More fanart for Patrick Rothfuss's The Name of the Wind. (See here: [link] for why you should be reading this book). This is a silly doodle of Kvothe I did while on the train. It amuses me because Kvothe isn't really the chibi-fying type (which is probably why he's so irritated in this picture. He's all "I am the most talented E'lir at the University, I'm the Stevie Ray Vaughn of the lute, I've killed dragons on crack and saved damsels from piglets, and you draw me like this?--and Tehlu Almighty, you call that a lute case?") Then again, my "skinny chibis" always look pissed off, which is quite all right with me. Pissed off is much more my style than SUPERKAWAIIIIDESU.

I wanted to try my hand at coloring digitally without having any linework in the final piece. I've tried before and never gotten very far. It's maddeningly difficult, or perhaps I am just too reliant on linearts. At any rate, I'd only embarass myself if I told you how long I worked on this.

Because I am utterly incapable of taking myself seriously, I added that fancy background and text just to make poor Kvothe look even sillier. Aw, Kvothe, you know I love you.
