Interesting process, is starting with grayscale easier? It's pretty neat.

So you start with grayscale, interesting. I tried it myself but I'm so bad with colors and I find it easier to use colors from the start.Β

It depends on the painting. When I'm note sure about the colors yet, or when I know values are very important to a painting, I start with those. In other cases, I just do colors all at once.

It's really cool how you start with values before adding colour. Is there a particular reason why you do that? Is it easier?

Ahh, nice. I haven't seen it done that way
in awhile. You do a monochrome painting, then color with
different blend modes.
Is that the way you do most of your digital work?
Or just maybe darker toned pictures, right?

Not every painting. Sometimes I start with colors directly.Β
There's no good reason for why I sometimes do the black and white first, and sometimes not.Β

Like I said though. Since you probably knew this
was going to be a darker toned picture, It would have made
sense to do those first, then add the subtle splash later.
Like another said. That blue tint for the glow is just right.

There is jut something about that blue glow that draws your eyes to it.
