In fact I play TF2 for 3 years and my main is Medic and Heavy ^^
Heavy really needs a good strategy, cool with a clever head. : P
He is not a very difficult just need a lot of experience!

I'm not the best heavy, unfortunately, i stared tf2 late last year and I main spy
and I main spy Spy but if there are to many spys i would go with either pyro, scout, med,
either pyro, scout, med, sol or engi depending what out team has. im a tricky cookie.

I am a bit difficult to tell you how to play Heavy XD
but my advice is that you need to have a Medic at any time to help you,If your team Medic is not good enough, I would suggest you play other class!
Another thing we always misunderstood thing is that we believe Heavy is a tank,
His health is only 300 and overhead only 450!You will know if the soldiers attack him, the soldiers/demoman need 4 ~ 5 bullet to killed him.
Means that even if you have Medic carry you,may be able to kill two soldiers or demoman at once time, but kill 3 ~ 4 soldiers/demoman at a time is impossible...
1.I usually play Heavy will do two things, one is waiting for the corner to sneak attack,If there are too many enemies to come when I will retreat.
2.I will observe where our team of engineers where as a base and help them defend.
Of course, do not forget to protect your Medic, always pay attention to SPY.( I often look back and open fire any players to close our.)
Your sandwich is a need to Medic, not your own.
Of course, there are many details, such as you need to know the map, you need to know the enemy's actions, which only rely on your experience in TF2.
