Looks like one of the initial designs for the Enterprise J by Star Trek starship designer guru Doug Drexler. Β Nice!

I've loved his version for years. Just found out its your design! Kudos!
Any chance I could get my hands on a 3D file so I can try 3D printing it? Please?
If it turns out, I'd be happy to print you one and send it to you.Β

Do you have a fanfiction that this ship goes with?
π: 0 β©: 1
Dajhail In reply to SheTheTDE [2014-02-26 20:48:39 +0000 UTC]
Nope, I haven't come up with a single shred of fiction to go with it. It is the ship with no past, on an ongoing mission of mystery.

SheTheTDE In reply to Dajhail [2014-02-26 20:53:57 +0000 UTC]
OOOH Stargate universe type thing.
The federation start hearing stories about a giant federation ship that according to records doesn't exist so they track it down and find out that it only looks like a federation ship.
there's your fanfiction. Good day.

Wow - I'm very impressed. This vessel has its unique shape but is still clearly recognized as a starfleet ship. And you have chosen an interesting angle of view. Brilliant!

It wasn't intended to be, but people have pointed out it looks a bit Romulan.

The nacelle pylons do resemble the D'Deridex warbird, but the geometry is unique. The saucer also resembles the Enterprise-J saucer, but I'm definitely not complaining. This is one gorgeous ship. Do you have a name for this class, and are there other angles?

Jaeger15 In reply to Dajhail [2013-07-30 20:34:15 +0000 UTC]
Hmm... How about Atlas class? And if you like I can come up with some specs for her. And the pictures are awesome.

Dajhail In reply to Jaeger15 [2013-07-31 05:52:06 +0000 UTC]
Thanks for the kind words!
Personally I'd rather leave her a mystery, that way she can be whatever people want her to be. To me she is the USS Quick 3D Model I Made To Practice Texturing, to someone else she's a half Federation, half Romulan hybrid ship, to you she can be an Atlas class starship etc. If she were to ever show up on Star Trek then that would pin her down pretty firmly, but until that incredibly unlikely day she's a blank slate as far as I'm concerned.

Okay then. If I ever write a Trek-style story, would you mind if I used this design?

Its a damn shame that you're not American. I would have loved to see this as the next Enterprise in Star Trek Online. Would have made a great submission. However, that aside, this is a mighty fine starship! Does she have a name?

Thanks! She does actually have Enterprise written across the front, mostly to save me from thinking up a name myself.

If this was a teaching model, You must have already been quite knowledgeable. This is fabulous. I nominate for Enterprise-G, H or K! If I were to guess it's pedigree, I'd say it was a hybrid of Federation and Romulan technologies and design schools. Beautiful design

JasonWolfe In reply to InfiniteExistence [2010-12-19 22:23:03 +0000 UTC]
I agree with you there. It would definitely make a good predecessor to the J, but not a successor. Might make a good ship for the "Ships of the Line" calendar series.
