IllEatYourself In reply to DaijinMinister [2012-07-08 00:47:07 +0000 UTC]

I KNEW it was those two! That movie used to be my favorite when I was a kid. Because I loved the story, loved the boy in it because he was both kind and awesome (HE'S LIKE BOTH WRIGHT BROTHERS IN ONE KID!) and because I used to think Kiki was pretty. XD I still love that movie, which I have had on tape for as long as I can remember! I have since then seen other movies by Studio Ghibli, my favorite so far being Castle in the Sky, with Kiki's still tied for first just because it will always be a great movie to me. If nothing else, I want my future kids to see it!

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

DaijinMinister In reply to IllEatYourself [2012-07-08 06:55:02 +0000 UTC]

yeah I know exactly what you mean! I think it's an awesome movie, and even though I'm not a kid anymore I still absolutely love it as well as other movies from Studio Ghibli <3 Laputa//the Castle in the sky was also great even though it was one of the oldest Ghibli movies. I always end up crying when I'm watching it.. I have most of the movies on DVD, and if you haven't already watched them I'll recommend you to watch especially Tonari no Totoro and Spirited Away! They're both just fantastic, and around as good as Kiki's Delivery Service, if not even better <3

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

IllEatYourself In reply to DaijinMinister [2012-07-08 07:09:25 +0000 UTC]

Spirited Away I saw, but the only family member who enjoyed it was my uncle, and that was because he understood it because he had been to Japan. The rest of us hadn't, so we all thought it was just weird. I still haven't been to Japan, but I understand its culture just a little more (I think) due to loving anime and whatnot. I still doubt I will like it if I saw it again though. Tonari no Totoro...remind me what that is in english. Isn't it "My Good Friend Totoro"? I doubt I have seen it yet anyway. I DID see Ponyo though, despite being like the only family member who really wanted to see it. That movie was cute.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

DaijinMinister In reply to IllEatYourself [2012-07-08 07:33:25 +0000 UTC]

Oh no : C I've never been to Japan either, but I absolutely loved Spirited Away. It was wonderfully done and the story and the characters were all so beautiful!
Hm yes, Tonari no Totoro is in English "My Neighbor Totoro" or something of that sort. It's cute and all the way sweet~ The story in the movie isn't exactly all dramatic and full of twists and action or anything, but all the casualness of the story is done so smoothly and naturally. And of course Totoro himself is just too cute.
Ponyo was cute too though, even though I'm kind of afraid of waters and especially deep waters with big creatures in them, but Ponyo managed to do both deep waters and the creatures in them in the pretty way. And the story was so sweet as well <3

IllEatYourself In reply to DaijinMinister [2012-07-08 07:42:03 +0000 UTC]

I'm a little afraid as well, but I am actually afraid of very little when it comes to fantasy, especially stuff like Ponyo. Off topic for the moment, yes, I figured it was something like that, because a friend of mine loved "My Neighbor Totoro" as well, and I would probably have seen it by now if I would remember it. XD Anyway to continue, I actually have a fear of heights, like a HUGE fear, but when it comes to video games like F-Zero GX, falling off tracks is just one of the fun parts if you can get back on or have to fall anyway. I once fell off the side of a track right before a gap I had to jump, so I went at a weird angle as a result. Somehow, I was able to turn one way until I was practically upside down, then I decided to turn the other way and did a total 360 spiral and landed on the track upright and perfectly fine. I believe I even WON that race! I was laughing so hard after I survived that fall though, as it was so disorienting due to the angle I fell off! Then there is the fact that in reality, I wouldn't hurt a fly unless it bugged me too much (pun partially intended), but when it comes to interests in art and such, I tend to really love the dark stuff. Sad, scary, The Joker, insane, gloomy, you name it I like it! Unless it's just plain gory. Then I may not like it so much unless it's just writing and not actual imagery. I am scared of a lot of things, but I sometimes tend to love them when I know for a fact they can't hurt me because they are on my TV or in my head. XD

DaijinMinister In reply to IllEatYourself [2012-07-08 21:19:12 +0000 UTC]

Oh god that gaming story is awesome! XDD It must've felt awesome when the fall lands perfectly and you end up winning even though you just had quite a fall going on xD

I know how you feel about that dark gloomy stuff. I really love almost everything creepy too, somehow things that may be scary often end up being somehow fascinating and interesting. Gore of course is kinda boring since it's not even creepy on any level, but weird bizarre stuff are just wonderful *_*

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

IllEatYourself In reply to DaijinMinister [2012-07-09 01:44:50 +0000 UTC]

Weird bizarre stuff is actually pretty much that exact thing to me. Weird and bizarre. Unless there is some kind of science or reasoning behind it, it's just weird and bizarre to me. By dark and creepy, I mean like the Joker, an evil Mad Hatter, a slightly crazy Ice- and Water-controlling 18-year-old with a mind deadlier than Magneto, or at least on the same level (removing the iron from a man's bloodstream to kill him was ingenious to me). I'm talking the madman killer who doesn't care much who or when he kills kind of dark. Gore just disturbs me if it's too gory, but if it's just blood, I'm usually fine. Guts...depends on how they look and how much there is. And about the game thing, I boosted when I landed to get my speed back up as I was laughing at my insane amount of luck. I honestly had no idea how I would land, and almost no idea what I was doing. I was just trying to right myself so I could control my fall, but instead I did a spiral until I landed and somehow ended up perfectly fine. You'd be surprised how many awesome stories can result from playing that game! You'd also be surprised how amazingly frustrating it can get once you begin doing the hardest modes. *shudders* There's a reason I haven't played it for a few weeks now. XD

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

DaijinMinister In reply to IllEatYourself [2012-07-15 12:49:34 +0000 UTC]

Yeah I totally agree with that bizarre stuff. I'm really interested in all kinds of stuff that cannot be rationally explained, and I think that bizarre stuff like that are almost laready being creepy. In fact I think that it's creepier not to know the cause of the events etc, instead of having some kind of murderer just hanging around, because if the cause of the "horror" is a person, it somehow eats away the scare-o-meter for me. Though I think that those madman-killer cases are really interesting only if they are based on true events. Guts on horror and stuff to me are mostly just a way the movie etc want's to indulge in blood and it just makes the whole thing a bit lame. It's not disgusting to see guts spilled on the floor in movies, and somehow it isn't even that disgusting looking since it's not real, but I don't know, I've always thought about stuff like that to be not effective : S
I can just imagine the feeling you had when that landing didn't fail! xDD What was the game called? I think I have to try it out sometime and see if I would get amazing stories as well XDD I play videogames a lot and get weird and amazing stories sometimes too, but it would always be cool to get those stories even more XD <3

Sorry for the late reply >_<

IllEatYourself In reply to DaijinMinister [2012-07-15 23:57:11 +0000 UTC]

The game was called F-Zero GX. It is a gamecube game said to have the best graphics on the console, and is also known for getting EXTREMELY DIFFICULT once you reach the harder modes. Trust me on this one, some parts of that game would not be out of place in the tower of london. Just as a heads up, unless you are some kind of genius or maybe even a god, you WILL need to make a custom vehicle at some point. on another note, i won an online free-for-all match against seven other guys BY A HAIR yesterday. The game was the Wii remake of 007 Goldeneye. The round was almost over and, although I didn't know it at the time, I was only two kills behind first place. The in-game timer starts beeping once per second when there are ten seconds left, and once every half second when there are five seconds left. I made a last ditch effort to find and kill whoever I could as fast as possible in an attempt to reach first place, because I knew I was close, but I haden't checked the scoreboard in a little bit and thus I didn't know exactly how close I was. I was not the highest level there however. I was level 39, and I'm sure there was another player or two that was at least level 50, thus allowing them to have better guns. The map was small, so most players were using shotguns, which usually kill in one or two shots. Anyway as the timer reached about two or three seconds left, i rounded a corner and found two guys about to go at it. I immediately shot the closest one, and then shot the second guy but missed or at least didn't kill him. He tried to shoot me as well but failed to kill me. Just a split second after the timer had reached zero and the last beep sounded, I took him out. I realized the kill had been counted, and immediately afterward the round ended and the scoreboard popped up. I discovered that not only did I have 29 kills, but so did the guy in second place. I had only won because of my insane luck and because I had fewer deaths.

Wow, I haven't heard much of that game, since I don't have a Gamecube, but it sounds like a great game. I don't usually go for racing games, but I googled up that one and it looks just amazing! Maybe some day I'll get a chance to try it out.
I don't know much about the 007 Goldeneye remake or how much the levels affect to the gameplay, but it sounds like you had some skills and good luck going on there!
I haven't been playing online really for ages. I used to ace on UT2004 when I still had it on PC, but after that I've never dared to play online: / Instead of playing online, when I have the time I'll just try to gather Trophies and Achievements on the consoles. At the moment I'm going for the last Trophy "Insanity" I have missing for Mass Effect 2, meaning that I still have to beat the game on the insane difficulty. I'm around the midpart of the game already, but I haven't been able to play the game in a while sine I don't have it at my apartment at the moment.

Huh. Never heard about UT2004 before. Sounds interesting. And yeah, it is really cool, but it's also REALLY HARD. Mass Effect 2 might even be easier! I don't know thogh because I've never played it.

DaijinMinister In reply to IllEatYourself [2012-07-25 22:05:22 +0000 UTC]

It's Unreal Tournament 2004 and it's a quite old game. But it was the best back when it was just released. And you should totally play the Mass Effect series. The story is cool and it's just so awesome : 0 At least in my opinion haha!
