this is one of my oldest ralph dolphyn redesign drawings. i did this four years ago. note the circle on ahnti's blouse where the star now is.

THE ARCH ETHERIALS

"the etherial hypnos became enamored with man and got too close. once glimpsed by man, hypnos became stuck in his gaze and unable to rejoin the choir. he decided to destroy man and be released from his consciousness. in the "world of minds" he was dismembered by the will of a child... the first dreamer. his parts were scattered across the consciousness of man and hid from his sight. the body called themselves the oneiroi. the head of hypnos fashioned the "head of law" and settled atop the child's head. all of whom dwelt in a "room" adjacent to man, forever stuck in his gaze and subject to his whims." ...or so the story goes.

that little narrative is whats in the backgrounds of my arch etherial character designs (ill be posting them soon). they are: lord OMAX the transformer, lord ANGI the dark, lord AMUSAI the trickster, lord ILLUMINE the teacher. lord SE-HING BULLOCK the examiner, lord HEROLD the messenger aka the long winded, and lord MARTOR the toll aka the insane "one"-iroi. lord MOBLI the inner child wasn't born of morpheus, he only wears the crown. the arch etherials are terrified of lord mobli the inner-child.
there are 4 types of magic: true magic, elemental magic, black magic, and false magic. many religions have sprung up surrounding the welders of false magic who claim to be prophets sent by god to save the world. the "gods" they refer to are the archetypes of human consciousness (arch etherials) who have sent what the u.g.h.r. refers to as "orbs" (false magic) through the rip in australia's sky.
the arch etherials are strengthened by the thoughts of man . the more intense the thought, the stronger the arch etherial becomes. they've established religions through false magic to get people to focus on them. pray to them, increasing their energy. the strongest type of magic by far is "false magic" or magic obtained through orbs. orbs include magic jewelry, tattoos, powders, staffs, and clothing etc. civilian possession of which is illegal. no training, knowledge, or energy is needed to use false magic.
the arch etherials are the 7 remaining parts to one whole so their energy is shared between them. each can become stronger by feeding on humanities prayers, but if one dies, they all become stronger by an equal distribution of the fallen etherials energy. most of them want to kill all the others and merge the two worlds to rule over all. mobli the inner child is unaffected by the death of an etherial because he isn't part of morpheus's body. it takes the entire body to rival mobli's power.
