REFERENCING IS THE BEST THING omgg
I just had to explain to my gf that referencing is the best thing you can do in art. Its so sad how much discourse is around the subject??? Like the people who are like 'ugh you REFERENCED you didnt draw it' are DUMBB.
How else are you suppose to get better at art?? Literally EVERYONE in history used reference!
anyways pardon my rant but yes keep on referencing!~ its literally the best. I always gotta reference real life shit for my cartoons just so i can get an idea on how an object is held and then transfer that into the style. ITS HARD but when u do it just right its perfect!

Nooo I understand the feeling ! Like when you say you use references for a drawing,
they think you just redraw the whole body while it's not that at all, I just looked up some references
for ONE part of the body because I was struggling drawing the muscles, like what do they expect,
they want me to come up with own muscles or what ? Sorry but I didn't create the human so yes I need references
to learn how to draw the anatomy xD
Like I never used references before, which was a huge mistake because I could have learned so much faster how to draw,
so now I only use them for things I never draw (like muscles)

aww man i totally get ya. The one good thing about going to Ai is they really pushed the fact that referencing is the best and its going to help improve your artwork in the long run, no matter what degree you are going for. They really pushed style studies too, which was awesome cause it helped me figure out my own style.
I literally cant even draw much of a picture without a few references now. Usually for hands. HANDS ARE HARD AF.
