It is interesting question. As a man of the science, i believe in power of nature(and I do not exclude the possibility of God's existence, but I need more evidence existence). I think people like me are called agnostics, though it does not prevent me to be an Orthodox Christian).I really believe that our salvation in right mind. The teachings of Jesus we can useing only as our guide life, but it is not a set of rules in just a lot of age-old experience of mankind, the same we can said about the Bible. But this is only my point of view.

Hmmm, i think it becouse, we are orthodox christians. In our religion, churches must be with golden cupolas; closer to God, so to say.
Protestants and Catholics do not build churches for this type, to my knowledge, but I could be wrong.
