Description
This is Angelique, the fifth Gym Leader of the Creola region. Angelique specializes in the Ghost type. Angelique lives in Creola's largest city, which is based on New Orleans. Angelique is an old voodoo priestess. She has the ability to communicate with Ghost-type Pokemon. She speaks the endangered Louisiana Creole French dialect, and uses it for conversations with Ghost Pokemon. She also has extensive knowledge of Creolan history and helps keep the traditions of Creola alive. She is unable to be battled until you have four Gym Badges, and then she will allow you to enter her Gym. Her Gym has puzzles involving spells and potions. Among her Pokemon are Haunter, Trevenant, and Banette.

Angelique's Gym is located in Crescentville, which corresponds to New Orleans in real-life Louisiana.

Angelique gives out the Voodoo Badge. Getting the Voodoo Badge means Pokemon up to level 70 will obey you. It also enables you to catch Pokemon up to level 45.

Angelique's name is supposed to refer to angels, which are often associated with dead people. (As an interesting trivia note, Morty, a canon Ghost-type specialist, is called Angelo in Italian.)
