Description
The CYSA is a series of superheavy combat pistols developed and manufactured by Neumond Waffentechnologie AG of the Rheinmetall-Denel-Neumond Group. The Mammut-B is the largest variant of the CYSA pistols and is also the largest of all 14mm 'cyborg pistols' as of 2196.
The original CYSA handguns were introduced in 2164. The Mammut was the original model with a capacity of 8 rounds and an electronic red dot sight mounted to the frame. The Mammut-A was introduced alongside it, having identical capacity but featuring iron sights and a cable-based neural link for brainmodded operators. Although large, heavy, and cumbersome for people with smaller hands, the guns were ultimately still capable of being picked up and fired by most people, even if they might prove very impractical (as is typical of all 14mm handguns).
The Mammut-B was introduced in 2185 and features an integral wireless neural link system compatible with modern cyberware. This grotesquely large pistol boasts higher ammunition capacity and comparatively softer recoil at the expense of being unusable by anyone that doesn't have extensive biocybernetic augmentation. The gun has no iron sights and is prohibitively large on top of being very heavy despite its expensive titanium alloy frame. Oversized hands and increased strength are necessary to hold and fire the gun, and sophisticated modern biocyberware in the form of brainmods or a cyberbrain is required to link with the gun's systems. In short, the kind of enhancements that are typically only observed with the most hardcore of military cyborgs.
The Mammut-B is ludicrously expensive for a handgun, costing well beyond that of most modern automatic rifles. Cost and prerequisites aside however, the Mammut-B enjoys a rock-solid reputation with the people who actually use it. In these circles, it receives praise for housing more ammunition than its contemporaries whilst not weighing as much as one might expect. The 9" barrel is also said to squeeze as much firepower out of the high-pressure ammunition as possible, making it a proper 'handcannon' even in the eyes of seasoned cyborgs. Of course, it is also completely reliable in operation, and some users suggest that it can be used as a blunt weapon if necessary, although the manufacturer has specifically discouraged this type of use in the operator's manual.

The Mammut-B is an oversized, gas-operated, striker-fired semi-automatic pistol designed for military cyborgs, and requires cyberware compatible with wireless neural weapon link technology to use. It is located towards the front and underside of the weapon, below the barrel in a reinforced housing. Controls are located both on the right and left sides of the module. The pistol has an ambidextrous slide stop/release and built-in electronic safety automatically linked to the cyberware in the user's gun hand. The weapon is magazine-fed and accepts semi-staggered magazines with a capacity of 13 rounds. The gun is chambered for the 14×36 MM superheavy pistol cartridge, and fires through a compensated, rifled, high-endurance barrel that is 230 millimetres long. Otherwise, the gun operates like a normal semi-automatic handgun.
The exhibit shown above is the original Mammut-B with its integral Cynamics WL-M Generic Ordnance-Personnel Interface module serving as the gun's WELIN-W/L client (Weapon Link, Neural - Wireless). Curiously, it also has a Kongsberg SAF proofing mark, making it a rare example of an already rare gun, as most Mammut handguns are proofed by German or Swiss organizations.
