Description "Are we sure this'll work?" CyberBowser asked Morgan. In repsonse, Morgan shrugged. "His parts are from the Era of Explosion," Morgan replied. "So, like everything else from that era, there's a large chance he'll blow up. But we won't know if we don't try!" Morgan powered on his newest robot and stood back. Black smoke coughed and streamed from the exhaust pipe on its back. Its lockjaw moved up and down, loosening it until to moved freely. Its giant arms swung gently back and forth. Its eyes lit up, red as flame. And its whole body roared to life as it rose before its creator and king. "CyberUnit #45," Morgan said, arms crossed. "You have one task, a test of your loyalty, durablility, and processing skill. You are to fetch CyberBowser and I two dozen donuts from the donut place in the Mushroom Kingdom. That's TWENTY-FOUR DONUTS from SHY GUY DONUTS, got it?" CyberUnit #45 nodded slowly and lifelessly as he marched out of the lab and into the outside world. "I hope he doesn't blow up," CyberBowser said. "Shut up," Morgan replied. "He won't."

The CyberUnit marched lifelessly down the road that lead to the Mushroom Kingdom. Like any golem, each step shook the earth around him. He glared ahead, eyes showing only anger. He exited the forest seperating the Crossroad Kingdom from the rest of the world and continued onward. Soon, he came across a small patch of flowers. A little girl was sitting in the flowers, plucking petals and muttering something to herself. The CyberUnit turned and marched to her, keeping his glare bright. The little girl looked up and locked eyes with the robotic golem. The girl said nothing. The CyberUnit cocked his head to one side. "Here," the girl said, giving the golem a flower. "Pluck the petals off! Like this!" The girl plucked off the petals from the flower in her hand. "Loves me, loves me not, loves me, loves me not, loves me..." The CyberUnit sat down and began to copy the little girl. "RUU EE, RUU EE OT, RUU EE, RUU EE OT, RUU EE..." Soon, the golem pulled off the final petal. "RUU EE." The girl giggled. "Now that special someone is sure to love you back!" The CyberUnit looked at the girl. His glare had left.

Morgan was banging his head against the wall. "I FORGOT THE COMMUNICATIONS MODULE," he said. "HOW DO YOU FORGET SOMETHING SO TRIVIAL?" "Relax, it happens to the best of us," CyberBowser said. "I'm sure #45 is doing fine. He should be home in ten minutes or so." Morgan shook his head. "You'd better be right," Morgan said. "If he explodes in the Mushroom Kingdom, we'll be killed by the real Bowser and his goons." CyberBowser laughed his robotic laugh. "We have teleportation technology, a fleet of custom-made airships twice as big as his, and robotic super soldiers. How can he beat us?" Morgan grimaced at the thought. "Bowser never learned how to stay dead," Morgan said. "WE HAVE TO FIND THAT ROBOT," CyberBowser said in a panic. "I'll send some Robokoopas to take care of the matter."

The CyberUnit finally arrived at the donut shop after a long walk through a flower garden. With countless flower petals on his back, the golem entered the shop and confronted the cashier. "Oh, welcome!" Shy Guy said. "What can I get for you?" The CyberUnit, incapable of speech, tried his best to say what he wanted. "OOO OOZE ONUT." "Two dozen donuts?" Shy Guy asked. The CyberUnit nodded in response. "All right, be out with them in a moment!" Shy Guy hopped to the back room, leaving the CyberUnit alone. After thinking about it, he decided that "CyberUnit" had nothing special-sounding about it. So, to pass the time while he waited for the donuts, the CyberUnit began grumbling off sounds that he liked.

CyberBowser was banging his head against the wall. "I FORGOT TO START MASS-PRODUCTION OF MY SOLDIERS," he said. "HOW DO YOU FORGET SOMETHING SO TRIVIAL?" Morgan scratched his head. "This seems oddly familiar," he said. Just then, their golem reentered the lab, carrying two boxes of donuts. "All right, you're okay!" Morgan said. The golem nodded. CyberBowser took the donuts from the golem and set them on the table. "Did he just... RESPOND to you?" CyberBowser asked Morgan. Before Morgan could answer, the golem nodded again and tried its best to manage a bow. "Is he...?" Morgan began to ask. "It's rare to see it in robots," CyberBowser said. "So I doubt that he has it. But there is one test to make sure. If he answers 'CyberUnit #45,' then he doesn't have it." CyberBowser turned to the golem. "What is your name?" CyberBowser asked. Normally struggling with words, the golem answered with the sound he liked best at the donut shop: "TORREM." Morgan and CyberBowser were awestruck. "He's... he's SENTIENT!" Morgan said in amazement. CyberBowser's metal jaw hung loosely at the screws. Torrem moved his lockjaw so that it looked like he was smiling. Torrem growled and garbled, which is how he spoke. "Umm..." Morgan scratched his head. "I understood that. That's insane!" "We actually build a sentient machine!" CyberBowser said. "We've made some kind of scientific breakthrough!" Morgan went over to CyberUnit #45's blueprints and wrote at the bottom of the page: "Overwhelming success! Name: Torrem."
