is this my first "mature content" posting? well ... i know my agent wouldn't like it. what ... you guys think all i do are pretty portraits, interesting street stuff and red carpet bullshit.well-think-the-fuck-again.
i wondered what the stages up to a suicide attempt might be. there have to be stages. i dunno. kinda hard to talk to someone after the fact. is it any different for a hot girl? they may be more tortured. this is when the idiot actually tries to take the gun.
this was inspired by someone and she may know who she is.
my friend -- won't disclose her name -- was so cool about this. she wants to do more fucked up shit. we made sure that there were no bullets in the gun. three times. don't worry ... no one was at risk of being ventilated.
canon eos 1d mark 2 with 24-70 2.8L. 100 iso. 60th at f2.8. 2400 ws of hensel strobe bounced off foam coar taped to the ceiling.

This image is very cinematic. I can actually imagine the focal transition from gun to face as you'd see in many films. It's really gritty without losing the humanity. I admire your work, and this is no exception.

I love the sense of raw-power in this shot. It conveys the emotions running through someone who is contenplating suicide.
The blurred gun really adds to it, and the angle is nice. The pose is cool, because it has an unusual stance to it. Love how the eyes really seem to pull you into the image.
Must have been a little intimidating shooting such a picture... I'd imagine that you'd probably be basically looking into the barrel of the gun. x__x;

I've been through most of the stages of suicide, except the dead part cuz people do interrupt and stuff and haha I wish I had gone through this stage. It would be a little fun to be all "Don't make me take you with me dumbass!"

I love the focus and the eye make up so she truly looks like she's tormented and in this one, she looks pretty pissed off, and yet still hot. I'm envious, lol.

These are all pretty tight (and different for you!) but I think I like this the best because of her expression. There's all this furious pain in her eyes that really floors me. And the shallow dof makes me actually feel like i'm in there, with a gun to my face. Hmm. Powerful stuff, no doubt.

definetly the best one of the series - with respect to someone who said "glorifying violence" i dont expect that this is doing so seeing as the gun isnt really shown - i know it can be seen but its focusing elsewhere in the imagery - the expression on the girl is fab - its, as again said above, a very sexy pose for such a subject matter - but this is a good things - showing that she isnt just some crazed woman about to kill herself she still is a sexy object of desire - so many things i could say but alas i dont want to take up your day with my thoughts on your picture - its an excellent shot mate

having my head and camera down at gun level ... it was a bit disconcerting looking into the rifling of the barrel. her face was much better to look at.

Oh yes-- love the focus here! Her expression is perfect as well-- really like how you didnt go with the gun in focus as most do in this type of shot. Really enjoyed this series- hope you keep going with this sort of raw expression

i thought her face was way more important. i don't like f/8-f/16 unless you really have to.
i mean ... if a girl had a gun pointed at you ... would you be looking at the gun? i don't think so.
i showed my father .... i'm not sure he liked the raw expression ... but he gets to tell all his friends about his crazy son hanging out with shallow celebrities ... now ... he gets a new twist to tell them about.
so happy you liked the series! it was fun doing it ... except for almost falling off the ladder.

this is definitely my favorite of the series. her pose almost reminds me of bruce willis in die hard, he just jumped through a door and landed on his side, now he's killing everyone. however, the circumstances are different in this picture. she's trying to kill you for trying to stop her from killing herself.
i really like the depth of field, and it's quite interesting that the focus is on her face. you're trying to take the gun from her, and suddenly it's pointed at you, but you're not focusing on that, you're looking her right in the eyes. i guess what i'm trying to say is: you're more concerned about the girl than the possibility she might shoot you.

that's so fucking funny when you say that. as i'm laying my head on the bed trying to get the right angle ... that thought went through my head ...
i put myself in the situation as it may happen ... should someone had added meth to the situation ... i was more concerned about what she looked like.

it felt dangerous. i unloaded the clip -- full of black talons. she remarked that the bullets looked meaner than normal bullets. they are ... they open up like mini saw blades.
nonetheless ... having your own sidearm pointed at you in a menacing manner ... a bit disconcerting.

you know what, i usually hate images including guns...with a passion. i hate how it glorifies violence, especially when its women holding the gun. your series here has a 'real' quality about it. its gritty. its not just a pretty girl posing. you're fabulous. and this series has only strengthened the fact that you're one of my favourite photographers. i'd love to see more like this.

i've never put a gun in a photo ... unless it was a bunch of police in some news assignment.
i don't like the glorification of violence either. this was just a couple of friends that a had a couple shots and decided to do something different.

this is a great series. out of the five, this is my fav. this one, too me, is the expression of someone wanting to commit suicide. its the desperation, anger and fear that people must feel before they do it.
i read about it every day, but i could never imagine what they must go through (its so normal to me now, its just like brushing your teeth).

Gorgeous! I like the fact that the gun is blurred because it causes that impression of it being so close to us(I imagine it almost in my mouth and that's pretty scary)...
