Nah, it's definitely not that bad. Sometimes, the art is just not done well. Whether it is shoujo-ai or shounen-ai, as long as both of the characters are designed well, it is okay. My pet peeves that I have about shounen-ai character design is when one is a high school boy and another is an older man, usually from late twenties to mid-thirties (like a teacher x student relationship). I think when it is designed like that, it is just weird. But when they are around the same age, it is fine.

i hate that as well.... i mean seriously, what the fudge? students and teachers??? make it legal please!! but then, there are sometimes when its kinda cute............. sometines XDDDD

Exactly my point! Nonetheless, those relationships are only cute when the two ages are reeaaalllyyy close, such as 17 and 24. Otherwise, it is way to creepy. Same goes for the relationships between guys and girls. I know that teacherxstudent relationships are very popular in manga, but when the guy is 35 and the girl is 16, it seems really wrong. But I've seen one that is really well done and cute. The manga is called Faster Than A Kiss where the main girl (Fumino) is 16 and her teacher (Kazuma) is 24. This manga is not mature or smut, so nothing inappropriate happens. I mean, they haven't kissed properly until the 32th chapter! However, it doesn't move along slowly! There is a lot of comedy and surprising twist. It is really cute.
It is about Fumino and her 4 year old brother (Teppen) whose parents died not long ago and they didn't have a place to live. They were sitting in the park when her English teacher, Kazuma, passes them and asks what happened. Of course, Fumino is not the type of person to have someone pity them; she is really strong-willed. So she yelled at him something along the lines, "You can't really help us unless you would marry me!" (This was on a whim and was meant as a joke.) But Kazuma immediately yells back, "I WILL!" So you can guess what happens from there on. I truly recommend it! It makes me laugh so much! I really hope you try it out!
