He hoped and he prayed that with each and every visit that she would still be there.
He also hoped and prayed that she wouldn't realize the truth, at least not yet.
That he hated apples.
Each bite made him want to gag...
But each bite kept him close to her, and with each apple(the sum of his noon day meal) he was closer, all the closer to his one true goal: saving enough to buy the true apple of his eye...
