Well, that was quite an hiatus, since the last upload,
as I've mentioned: projects.
There where 3 written works I've illustrated, 2 of which
are already printed right now.
I've revisited many of these portraits, cleaning them up
and bringing them into a cohesive form
(Perhaps I'll upload some of the reworked pieces,
some got colorized, there are also new ones)
Of course the La Morphine Noire webcomic is still going on.
Currently I'm able to visit regular figure drawing sessions.
etc.
So at least the art itself is not on hiatus,
but I've neglected my online presence in the last weeks.
As for the piece, I've already spotted a number of issues,
but I'm always glad for your input
So critique away!

Nothing short of spooky! i love the jellyfish and the ghostly illumination it casts. The dark shading and linework is really cool.

Thank you very much. I did have a small sketch for this one
that I made months earlier while travelling by rail.
Sadly this was one of those pieces who lost some of the expressiveness
and dynamic while translating it to a full piece.
But I'm all the more glad you're enjoying it

I don't reckon I've experienced with the cross-hatch technique enough to give a proper critique, but I do like what I see. It's as they say, practice makes perfect. I do enjoy the jellyfish in this pic, haha XD

Cross-hatching is probably a lot of experience,
There are so much potential in the micromanagement of lines
which I hopefully will improve over the years,
but it just takes time^^

Good to hear that you're honing your craft, the figure drawing sessions especially sound great; it wasn't a hiatus lasting few years, I bet it's going to be fine
Using those white spaces seems like a bold move, but I like how it works with the navy blue (that I see on my screen). I don't exactly understand what you're trying to say in this piece, but I like the overall feel of it.

screen to screen, but navy blue sounds about right^^
Well, I agree that the drawing is a bit more obscure or less directed
without a clear metaphor, more a try at capturing an impression.
But I've absolutely no clue how it is perceived
Yet hopefully everything will improve with time and practice,
even the conceptual side

Often it's easier to describe a feeling with an image rather than words. I personally don't really like to deeply analyze art - of course sometimes a work is meant to be analyzed and to look for something specific in it, but other times it's best to leave that and just enjoy the painting/drawing/etc.

I utterly agree. Some artwork aims to just convey an impression,
but not anything that could be analyzed in any structured or technical way.
Also it's not at all bad, if different people access to the same painting or
drawing on different levels.
That's why sometimes I feel like it spoils people, if too much is said or written about a piece,
be it music, visual art or anything, really
