Original character Kreiger was a product of Nazi Germany's super-soldier program Projeckt Halbgott ("Project Demigod"). Possessing superhuman strength, resistance to injury, and a literal addiction to combat, he was the epitome of the super-soldier concept. Kreiger was part of a handful of successful test subjects recruited for Die Ubermenschen , a team of super-powered Germans meant to lead the country to victory while epitomizing the ideal combination of Aryan purity and science. Though Kreiger was a brutal warrior, he did have a strict code of honor. When fellow Ubermenschen Blitz came to his aid during his fight with the American superhero the Guardsman , Kreiger killed his teammate for he saw as a dishonorable act.
