I always choose the water type as my starter but that terrible frog/ninja thing from the new pokemon XY made me change my ways after...ummmm like 10 years of playing pokemon? (also I hate frogs, toads, etc).Related content

You can trade any pokemon in your box for the second starter. You get it from the little girl rival that helps you through the forest in the beginning. She will come up to you when you leave your house after beating the elite four.

my friend told me, and he showed me the fennekin he got after he beat the game. He already had a greninja, too.

Got my Fennekin up to a Delphox, found out that it basically is able to DESTROY EVERYTHING.

I also use the water type since PokΓ©mon Gold, but this time I also would choose Fennekin, cause I don't like the new water type.
