We’re finally here folks,
My interpretation of Ben:

Sometime after the death of Max, Ben slipped into a deep depression causing him to lash out and become more brutal. The Earth began seeing him as a threat and turned against him and his friends. Aliens are no longer seen as friendly neighbours and are forced to either leave Earth or go into hiding. Ben lost faith in people and faked his death to make the world, including his friends believe that the era of Ben 10 is over. Shortly after he unlocked master control on his new Omnitrix using his smartest transformations. Now that he has no time out on his trix, he spends most of his time under cover helping those in need around the galaxy.
