Description Combat Diving Suits

During the Atlantean wars of 1781, the nations of the continent of Hericlose waged war with the mermen. United the armies of the world combined with the highly advanced Avian race, were able to keep Atlantis at bay, however only the Avians possessed the means to take the fight to the mermen and their underwater city. Unfortunately, the Avians never had the numbers to make any meaningful impact in the war effort without taking substantial casualties of their own.

This changed when Dwarven machine smiths developed the first combat diving suits. These suits were a marvel of engineering and magic. Advanced servos and a reinforced suit allowed the user to move in the crushing depths of the sea. Oxygen tanks would be constantly refilled with the help from hexes of wind that could provide air for a day before wearing out and needing recharge.

For armaments the suits mounted two clockwork torpedoes that could hit targets at 200 yards. These small torpedoes are very devastating, but unlike their more advanced Atlantean counterparts, these are unguided, much to the begrudging disappointment of the dwarves who could not crack the Atlantean guidance systems, nor come up with a comparable alternative.

On the hands were mounted two hexes of force which when aimed could compress and push currents of water into bone breaking streams that are effective up to 100 yards. Finally, on either arm were pneumatic pile spikes for close quarter engagements. The spikes could be propelled forwards at incredible speeds and puncture an opponent with lethal force before being retracted.

The introduction of this suit allowed the allies to take the fight to Atlantis. The Atlantean technological edge still reaped a bloody toll, but the sheer numbers the Allies deployed would eventually carry the day.

A look at equipment from my upcoming book series.
