Description

A little while ago, I posted a deviation, requesting people to give me three random words. From these random words, my goal was to create an original character. The challenge wasn't my idea, I borrowed it. But I had a lot of fun with this workshop, and want to thank everyone who offered their words! I hope you all get some amusement out of the characters I made.

This character was created from 's words: Stabler, Monkey, Bubble

Boy do I have some explaining to do with this one. Especially considering these three words were actually the first submission.
Side note: Toy is his nickname. No real name given yet.

How each word inspired the design:

Bubble – When I started looking over everyone's words, I really wanted to do my best to incorporate the words not in a literal sense, but an inspirational sense. So when I think of bubbles, a few things come to mind. First, is the color blue, which is where the use of this color comes from. The second is innocence. This contributed to this character being a child. The third is simply that bubbles are 'Toys' which is where his nickname came from.

Monkey – Again, I looked for a metaphorical use of this word rather than, say, making him a monkey person (taking the easy way out). With bubbles already on the brain, the first thing I think about with monkey is how some adults call wild children monkeys. Particularly little boys. This decided the character's gender more than anything. The use of this word was a little lackluster, I'll admit.

Stabler – This. This is where I need to explain myself. In a momentary lapse of reading comprehension, I read 'stapler'. So, with stapler on the mind, this is how everything devolved. Naturally, my ever violent mind pulled two words from stapler- metal, and weapon. I thought for only a moment of giving this character a giant stapler as a weapon. But I've always been a fan of giant scissors (though kill La Kill's ruined any originality in that, I suppose), so it went from stapler, to scissors.

I did not realize until the character was practically complete, that the third word was stabler. I considered putting a rocking horse on his shirt to both stick with the 'toy' theme, while adding something to do with horses (because I always think of horses first when referring to a stable). But it just didn't look right.

So I've decided to own this mistake and post the character as is. The words did still inspire his design, even if it's not the most obvious. I like how this sleepy little guy turned out anyway.
