origin | fern was once an old and sociable river otter. he delighted in collecting knickknacks and keeping them neatly arranged in his den. the youngsters would often make off with his treasures and the old otter would give chase and reorganize his things daily. when his age became to much to keep up with the prying youngsters he made for the beauty of the waterfalls up stream and passed peacefully on the shores.
