Description This picture belonds to *cyzeal . <3
It's for her present coloring contest . All of the lineart belongs to her and this is my painting over it.
This is one of those things... I really didn't want to finish this! XD lol, but the deadline is today so! X]
I think I must call it finished whether it is what it could be or not.
It's a really beautiful picture. Sira based it on a dream. I tried to make it feel dreamlike. (That's why I painted the crescent moon as a crescent.) So, as I listened to Muse for my work soundtrack... I have this title from crossing New Born and the lyrics of Hoodoo. This little dragon was born in a dream. ^^ I really love these characters, after spending so much time with them. The dragontamer is Liam and his dragon is Senn. You can find their story here along with the original lineart! It was so much fun to work on this. I hope you guys will like it. Especially you Sira. :] Thank you for running the contest and letting me work on one of your pictures!

its a great job ont he linework and the colroing it in part.... DAMN! i bet dis shit took ya a long time! some of ur work has some light brightening here from rays and its wut makes it look awakened! dayam boy u amazing at the graphics!

first i would like to personally thank you for taking part in my contest :] because very few took part in at all i'll give you my thoughts on your coloring and then compare it to the others so that you know why i gave it the place it got.

mmh, jaaa. crimsonmegatron! ^^ your coloring is one of those pieces you can't just look at and have an opinion about it. my first thought was "uh, pretty dark" - but - the fact that it is pretty dark keeps your eye's attention on it and then you notice all the things like the wonderful done vapor or eggshell or sky or dragons ... compared to the other colorings you colored it the most free way. although it's so dark you notice all the background's and foreground's elements I put into this lineart. well, there are things like the front rock or parts of the tamer's coloring that could have been a bit better (he looks a bit like floating there XD) but all in all, to me, it's the piece with the most intense effect, best harmony and most interesting to look at. Thankies!

I wish I could have sent you progress on it to see where you thought it could improve but I did enjoy just doing this my way. I loved working on it and I think I even learned a lot from doing it. Your lineart was just beautiful and it is a fantastic picture! ^^ I'll remember this for a long time and look forward to any chance to collab with you again! <3

By damn I love this The fantasy moody atmosphere... and that sky So sweet I love the scale detailing on the dragons, so subtle but adds just so much to it!

You noticed the scales! XD I kind of wondered if it's really even noticeable that I did that at this resolution. It is pretty "subtle", lol. Thanks for your comments on that and my sky. XD And thanks for good luck! ^__^

I don't think it's a good idea to say "better" though before the judge has a fair chance to speak. ;]
Yours looks great too! The way you did the acid has a strong impact on the picture and the viewer.
At least, compared to mine, you can tell it's lava, lol. I originally intended to do something like that but I decided there must be a way to get this acid thing to make some sense in the story. So I put mine in a big field on the other side of the spawning/burial grounds. I figured I'd drag some acidic mists over the rock area and then have Senn have jumped around on those rocks to get to the egg. The way he's posed there makes him look pretty agile and very strong and coordinated. I thought he probably makes a great jumper. XD Especially with a little help from those wings... which surely do something, lol. I think though... that's probably one of the big things I'll never be happy with in the picture. Compared to yours, it kind of looks like I took the easy way out. Heh. Well, I'm glad you found me! I still have time to say good luck to you! XD

Thanks for the compliments. I like how you really went deep into animating the characters and their movements in your mind before coloring the linework.
I like the piercing light at the top of the clouds and how they illuminate the dragon's fur (?) and the dragon's wings. And I like the subtle touch of the acid mists in the distance.

Primarily, I'm a writer not a painter. So most of my thought is about the story and how it happens. A lot of the time I put into pictures is me just sitting there staring at it and imagining a story to go with it, lol. I, uh, usually miss deadlines! XD
Um, well... I think I had a crystalline/scaly texture idea there instead of fur. But "fur" is cool, lol. In a higher resolution it would be easier to see how I did the effect on the skin in various places.
