Mostly in my drawings I go over each spot once, and then call it done, but here I had to work on the skin forever, adding more layers and more detail until it finally looked acceptable.

Dunno lol.

Seriously, though, I really don't know what it is that makes a drawing look photorealistic, while others look like drawings. If I ever figure it out, I'll let you know. The simplest thing I can think of is, I keep adding bits and changing bits until it looks right. Occasionally I'll get fed up before then and call it done, but the ones that look like photos are the ones I didn't give up on.
