Pikepaw believed that he didn't care about the others around him. Mother's struggling to carry their kits, injured warriors and apprentices, the sudden cries which were cut off by the sounds of branches tearing away from trees which was always followed by a deafening crackling as the flames licked at the bark and burned them up. Burned everything up..
It was all background sounds. Obstacles which he would have to dodge if he wanted to survive. Because his survival was all that was meaningful for him. It was the only thing he could hear clearly in his mind, being in a trance of adrenaline which made his paws continue to plow through. He only cares about himself. He repeated that to himself. Everything else was a blur, they had no meaning. He didn't care.
Or so he thought.
He identified a loud cry from among the panic. He could hear the words clearly. He skidded to a halt, shoulder hitting off another tom as he turned around, eyes searching the pelts that ran by him. His heart thudded against his chest, telling him to flee. A sharp cry got him going again. Though not towards his original destination.
The ash covered tom heard his name being called from behind him but he continued on, hearing others to tell his tallest brother to leave him and continue to run. Voices slowly became distant and soon all he could hear was seemingly a high pitch ringing.
Pikepaw panted, eyes darting around drastically. Where are they? Where are they? The question repeated over and over, desperate to find his siblings pelts.
And he got what he wanted, but not in a way he had imagined. He almost fell over his paws as he came to a quick stop, the fire more intense in the area he was in and he felt like he was melting on the spot. His eyes lay on the crushed body of his brother among the flames.
"CREEKTALON!" He cried, awaiting a reply, a grunt, any sort of sound or movement even. But no such thing happened.
His sister, whom he had heard his younger brother cry for was nowhere to be seen.
A small cry of dismay caught in his throat as the flame's grew bigger, causing him to finally retreat away from the burning forest. And away from the way he had gone before. Away from everything and everyone he knew.
He couldn't go back.
Not without knowing that he had left his brother behind.

This isn't the greatest thing I've written XD But its good enough //stamps it with an "Okay i guess"
The small little bits at the beginning and the end were based on written parts from the Third Hunger games book ;v;
Also how does one draw fire? //leaps into the flames
