I had an old black velvet pillow case that I made when I first learned how to sew. I decided to sacrifice it to the cause of an original pattern by yours truly!
I drew up a dragon pattern that would fit on the pillow case, cut it out sewed it together with leopard print fuzzy fabric for the belly and inner ears, off-white satin wings, and purple feather boa mane. I gave him a plastic crystal on a sheer gold ribbon as a final touch.
He was a test pilot for the pattern and didn't have safety eyes at the time. So he has no eyes, but I like him that way.
The pattern was designed so he would face straight ahead, but his head is turned. I have no idea how that happened!
I like that it happened...It probably has something to do with how difficult the velvet was to sew together.The difficult nature of the velvet was part of why the head is so slender and narrow. The velvet kept fraying so I had to keep making the seam allowance bigger and bigger toward the center of the gussett.

Absolutely adorable. 
I love the use of leopard print and the feather boa. And he does look really cool without eyes. It's like he's evolved and doesn't need them anymore.
I'd love to try and make my own plushie....I ought to do so. xD
