It's so cute. I start liking snails :3
You can put something heavy in his body, like a nut or another piece of metal. They say it works, never tried myself to be honest :s

Thank you! Hehe sounds like a challenge but go for it!

hm, most amigurumi wise, knit looks like braids and crochet looks like squares or v's. Maybe I will! but the might be a lot of sewing lol.

Thanks for this. I'm wondering if I could add it into the white part. I'll probably have to make a few more snails to figure it out.

CrochetedCuriosities [2012-07-09 18:46:30 +0000 UTC]
What Rae-Lynn mentions is exactly what I was going to suggest. Also, it's a good idea to start the pattern from the bottom with a flat shape like an oval or circle and then go up from there. With characters wearing shoes, I add on flat little ovals for soles and it really helps. :3
Very cute, though. He almost reminds me of something from Adventure Time. ^_^

Ty for this! So, do you mean I should make an oval, and then add the amigurumi on top?
I really didn't think about Adventure Time when I made this lol. But thanks! The show is cute in it's own sort of way haha.

This is adorable! I've done a snail before, but he wasn't as cute as this one. How did you get the swirl pattern on the shell, variegated yarn?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
craftyhanako In reply to cillanoodle [2012-07-09 18:57:25 +0000 UTC]
Thanks so much. No variegated yarn with this one. It's really hard to explain without pictures, but I'll be posting this pattern for free with a picture tutorial soon.
I guess I can say, it's made like a ball, but you do half of each round in one color, and half in another.

Rae-Lynn [2012-07-09 18:31:13 +0000 UTC]
You can get little 1/8" glass beads to go in the bottom of your plush to weigh him. if you do that, though, sew them into a tiny bag first, or they'll slip out between your stitches.
