Description Done for Madman's "AnimeFace" Art Competition in October 2010. We had to draw a real-life person as an anime character. I decided to do the main cast in Starsky and Hutch, simply because I love the show

I'd like to see Starsky and Hutch turned into an animation (provided it stuck to cannon, unlike a certain movie... ), because not only does the plot cover various crimes, it also explores the deep friendship between the two main characters. Plus it's funny

Their locations (backgrounds) are:
Dobey - his Office at Police HQ
Starsky - the Burger and Chicken stall/store seen in "Bust Amboy".
Hutch - outside the main door at Venice Place; his home.
Huggy - Inside his bar from the 1st Season.

Ayeee! Nice work! Recently started watching Starsky and Hutch and it’s a fantastic show!

I can totally see a S&H animated TV show, if it would ever happen I’m not sure, but it’s a great idea since the main show only lasted 4 seasons unfortunately

Although, if a crossover was ever going to happen, it would’ve been cool to see Bodie and Doyle from the Professionals meet Starsky and Hutch. 1. Both characters are involved in law enforcement, 2. Both shows were from the 70’s and probably come out around the same time, and 3. One is American and the other is British

ah wow so cool! i've recently got in to the old series of starsky and hutch and i loved it so much!
i was so excited to watch the film and after watching it i was so disappointed...
but yes an animation of them would be amazing! and hopefully better than the film lol

Great to see another fan of Starsky and Hutch around! I know what you mean about the film. I watched it back in 2004, before I even knew who Starsky and Hutch were, and didn't have much of a problem with it then. But after familiarising myself with the TV show a few years later, I was disappointed with film when I rewatched it. The characters seemed like their personalities had been switched And Huggy Bear was too extreme for me lol. And for some reason, Hutch liked Starsky's car

yes awesome to talk! i completely agree with you DX i ranted to so many people about how starsky was like hutch and hutch was like starsky your right, but i think snoop dog played him well ^^" ah yeah what was up with that XD the one part in the whole film i liked was when david soul and michael glasiar made a cameo, it was so cool to see them! ^^

Brilliant work, Corad. I like how you composed this one, what with each character having their own box, and then the black at the top with the little Torinos I think my favourite is Huggy...although it is quite funny that Starsky is outside a burger joint, but is still looking "heroic"

Wow!! I love this!! You captured their 'real' personae, and yet anime'd them to perfection!! The characterizations on their faces, and in their postures truly reflect exactly hwo they are as 'real people'! I hope that wasn't redundant, but either way, AWESOME work!!

Why am I not surprised?
I'm beginning to realize how utterly oblivious I am to the general plot of Starsky and Hutch seeing as my first thought was more or less "They're detectives...?"

I like the various poses and backgrounds, I feel like I should be able to get the gist of the characters from them.

Oh man, GreyJedi, you should watch it! I have a feeling you'd enjoy the series, what with all the crazy bromance moments I've been taking a few screenshots of them, so if you're still up to drawing the guys, I'll send them to you.

I was hoping you could get a feel of the characters by the way I've drawn them. I had fun with the backgrounds too, although now that you mention it, I probably should've listed where they all are... I might go and edit that in.

I suppose that's true enough.
I probably would like it, since on the whole you tend to make quite good recommendations, even if I take forever to listen to you about them. Like how I finally got my butt in gear and started watching Avatar last week.
And of course I'm still up for drawing Starsky and Hutch for you! Hopefully I'll be able to get them done in a much more reasonable amount of time than I usually take.

I'll have a look around youtube to see if I can find any episodes for you to watch....I think there may have been some last time I checked, but we all know how youtube likes to delete things OMG, I noticed that you'd added Avatar into your likes on facebook (which might I add, I still haven't worked out what I'm doing yet.... ), and wondered when you'd started watching it. How have you been finding the series? I loved it myself, because even though it was more of a kid's show, it appealed to adults too
I'll email those screenshots when I get the chance, although....I should probably try to cut back a bit, because there are quite a few.... A few might actually be an understatement....

Well, I've noticed that you've sent me all the links to the pilot episode, I suppose I'll have to watch those fairly quick if I want to make sure that all the pieces are there what with silly youtube and it's need to delete stuff.
I'd wondered if you were going to see that on facebook - it's okay if you don't know what you're doing on there, if you have questions I can try to help you though if you'd like. I've finished watching Avatar now; I got the first season out of the library and then discovered that it was available on ILC's netflix account, so that kinda sped up the watching process. I really liked it though! It's great when kids shows are made to appeal to an older audience too.
