This piece has a lot of potential. Your movement, and your treatment of the vines is very strong. The treatment of the figure is the only thing that is detracting, only because the style of the child does not match the style of the rest of the piece. Don't be afraid to try a more painterly approach to the figure as opposed to the cartoony approach that you have here. You obvious have a good sense of lighting, and I think that could really be incorporated into your human figures. The idea behind this painting is beautiful, with the child orchestrating the growing vines.

the one beautiful thing about rezo's work is that he doesnt care. he doesnt seem to worry much about what people Think so much as what his work makes people Feel. its interesting, most of his art follows a theme; the world is depicted real/surreal with such skillful execution as even the most experienced artist but his subjects are depicted frequently with childlike abandon. its as if theyre like a touch of... innocence. i think thats what rezo is going for here. he can absolutely draw a person just as it is from memory and have it fit the setting of the piece but that wouldnt give the effect he wants to achieve. it would take away from what the art makes you Feel.

I just never put any detailed color in the center. It was only a light wash, and with the surrounding colors being so dark it pushed out the brightness.

Heh. I can just imagine the plants rocketing out of the ground and snaking around the sky as the little girl directs them. Wonderful!
