Description
(Variation 1)A banner of Tabatha, a minor character from Tales of Symphonia.
[Spoilers to the middle of the game: She was originally created by Altessa, the dwarf craftsman, to house the soul of Martel, the goddess of the separated world of Syllvarant and Tethe'alla. She was a failure, and Martel rejected her body. Hence the theme of rejection.]
[Spoilers to the end of the game: Mithos, creator of the two worlds, and the brother to Martel, assumed that Martel didn't find Tabatha as an adequate vessel. Later on in the story, he made an attempt to kill Tabatha. She reminded him to much of his sister, and he hated her for it. The final cutscene of the game depicts her waiting at the fallen grounds of the Tower of Salvation, Gateway to Heaven, ready to receive Martel's soul. She succeeds, and Martel is resurrected as the Guardian of the World tree.]
The "Set in Stone" line is referring to her close ties to the stones called exspheres.

Tabatha has got to be one of my favorite characters throughout that whole game. Very pretty!

I love when she goes into the mine with Presea and Lloyd. It's cool to know that she has her own personality. Even if it's just a small amount.

really nice sig! I like how it looks like a soul is leaving her body. Is that picture an official picture?
Also, I read some interesting info on Tabatha that apparently came from some official "Scenario Book" or something. You can read it here if you want [link] ~ What I remember from it was that Mithos' sister Martel, after her soul was released from Colette's body, found its way into Tabatha's body, which is why she appeared at Heimdall later on (or something like that). And then the soul she received at the end of the game was the spirit of the tree.

Yeah, the render is official.
As far as the game tells you, Tabatha was already there. I doubt she was there by mere coincidence. It was the sprouting spot of the last World Tree I believe.
Also, The Spirit of the Tree is Martel's soul. It's stated by the Tree Spirit in the end.
