In her early years, Melenda spent her childhood living in Russia with her family. Her family consisted of athletic trainers , soldiers, explorers, teachers, and authors. Growing up she felt pressured into becoming something that would impress her family and live up to the Petrov name. When she was 19 she took a interest in kickboxing. Seeing how she already had everything she would need in order to properly train, it didn't take long for her to get conditioned and ready to enter the cage after a couple of years. Naturally her parents weren't to fond of this idea, but after a few years Melenda became a well known fighter among the hand-to-hand combat sports. But when she was 22 years of age Melenda had finally met her match and suffered serious injuries. After she recovered she felt too ashamed to return home, despite all the love and encouragement. After making the decision to never step into the cage again, Melenda decided to move to America where she would find a job working as a personal trainer for wealthy individuals.
