Illusionary: *she and the crew had made port one day and were resting in a shabby seaside inn when she could hear somepony strange approaching. A very strange pony was slowly limping towards Illusionary. This pony had a long line of lengthy, writhing octopus tentacles for a mane and the strong tail of a bull shark in place of a normal one. A pair of crab claws protruded from the pony's back, and a very long, webbed fin ran between them. The eyes of this strange pony were cloudy and blue, as if they were blind. The pony had a peg leg and several pieces of pirate jewelry, as well as a skull-and-crossbones bandana tied around it's neck*
Pony: So...ye be a pony of the sea, eh? *this pony had a strange accent and a deep throated voice sounding like a mare who was about to throw up.*

Illusionary: *eyes widened, she looks at the stranger with a sense of foreboding, but she maintains a cool outward appearance* Aye. The name's Nitrous, mate.

Mare: *grins, showing rotten yellow teeth which emitted a foul scent that was potent enough to make Illusionary cover her nose* My name be Kesengsaraan. *she held out a fin-like hoof for a formal hoof shake.*

Illusionary: *her nose catches onto the foul scent, but she tries not to turn away, lest she offend the stranger. Instead, she turns toward the bar, attempting to seem as though she were mysterious and disattached rather than disgusted. Her eyes watered slightly as she took the mare's hoof and shook it. Turning back to the bar, she signals the barkeeper to fetch Kes a drink* What's ye poison, mate? An', forgive me f'r this, as it be none of me business, but what's the deal with yer... well, everythin'.. *she gestures at Kes's entire body*Β What's goin' on wit'.. that..? *she doesn't know exactly how to explain herself without sounding rude. Her eyes fall on the crab pinchers protruding fromΒ her back, and she alternates between staring at her tentacle maneΒ and pinchers*

Kes: No need to be shy about askin' me questions. Offending me on land is something that is nigh impossible. *she looks at Illusionary with her foggy eyes* I be the true essence of the sea. *the crab claws raised and began to scrape across the counter as the tentacles forming her mane writhed like decapitated snakes, leaving a trail of slime across the countertop* Plus, I heard ye be in need of a spare set of hooves.

Illusionary: *nods in acknowledgement, but shakes her head vigorously after hearing the tale about needing more help on the ship* Whatever pony that told ye that must've been drunk off grog. Me crew is rather large as it is. *looks at her, respectfully, before turning back to the barkeeper* Ye're an interesting character, lass. Ye never did mention what I could order ye t'drink 'ere.

Kes: Some rum would be nice. *the many earrings in her webbed ears jangled as she threw her head back in hearty laughter* Ye amuse me, captain. To refuse help from me is like refusing help from the sea itself. He being pirates, I suggest ye hear me out. *she stared at the captain darkly* Dark times be approaching fast. I see many losses in ye future. I can prevent many more of said losses if I be on board ye ship. *her voice became as dark as that of Davy Jones himself* But, if ye turn my generous offer down, ye be dooming yeself, he crew and ye ship. Ye be makin' the very seas your enemy!

Illusionary: *holds up her hooves and laughs* Alright, alright, if ye be so keen on workin' under me. Yer accepted. *she snorts smoke and signals the barkeeper to bring them both glasses of rum. When he returns with them, she takes a deep swig of hers*
