Description
Ferindar, one of my personal favorite OCs, is a young Nerazim with an extraordinary history. Although only an adolescent and having just reached the protoss equivalent of puberty, he's been through quite a bit even from the moment of his conception.

His story is a long one, but to break it down: In relation to the story my friends and I have written, he is the son of Hierarch Artanis, born of Selendis. Selendis more or less took advantage of Artanis (believe it or not) in an effort to somehow gain his favor and further her chances of taking over the hierarchy. However, when Artanis did not accept her advances as a binding tie, Selendis became concerned and frustrated.

Determined that Artanis was too inexperienced and not the ruler the people needed, Selendis decided that she needed to usurp the throne. Then she found out that she was carrying Artanis' offspring. Holding hopes for her son's advancement if she should fail, Selendis staged an attack on the hierarch but was mortally wounded.

Her child, Ferindar, was rescued by a female Dark Templar who cut him out of Selendis' womb as the Executor died. As a confidant to Selendis, the Dark Templar took the infant to a medical facility where he was grown in a specialized chamber until his body could handle being out in the environment. He was then taken to Shakuras and raised as a dark Templar, to keep him hidden from Artanis until the time was right.

Eventually, however, Artanis became a great leader. No longer was Ferindar kept a secret, and he was allowed to join his father and Zeratul on a quest for protoss immortality. He has a female terran friend who is a powerful psionic by human standards. The two of them largely grew up together with the Dark Templar, and are now inseparable.

Ferindar is a very social little fellow, and like his father sometimes has difficulty concentrating on his lessons. He tries very hard, however, and is eager to please and impress. Rather often, he can be seen at least attempting to meditate, though now and then something will break his focus.

He loves Aiur but feels most at home on Shakuras.
