Description Sync'd : The card game that's coordinated.

Sync'd is played with the American 52 card deck. About 3-5 people can play.

Deal out n + 1 equal piles of cards, where n is the number of players. The extra pile is called the Center. The Center will lead every time.

If you have extra cards, pick one at random. Its suite is trumps for that round. Otherwise draw the top card from the Center, and use its suite as trumps; then shuffle it back into the Center.

Players must follow the suite of the card played by the Center, unless they can't; in that case they may play anything, but can only win that trick with a trump card. High card of the suite will win unless trumped; highest trump wins.

After assessing their cards, players will bid on tricks. Players will simultaneously display with their fingers the number of tricks they aim to take; this keeps things interesting.

Play begins by turning over the top card in the Center. That is the lead card. Every player will select a card, and then lay them down simultaneously. If the Center wins, the Center wins. Get used to it.

At the end of the round, rank each player by how close they were to their bid target; e.g. Tommy made his bid for a difference of 0, Susan was one over, Joan was one under, so Tommy is first and Susan and Joan tie for second. Ties go up, but remember that this means that lower spots are skipped; for 5 players, if 3 tie for second, there is a first place, 3 second places, and a last place. Each players receives n - p points, where n is the number of players and p is the player's placement; in a 5 player game, first place gets 4 points, and last place gets 0. A game can be played to any number of points, but 30 is a good target for a short game, and 50 is a good target for a longer game. If players are tied for first (which often happens) at the end, keep playing until there's a single winner.
