Description The Hawker Hurricane entered service in 1937, and was a Front Line fighter during the Battle of Britain in 1940. It went on to serve all over the world and was improved and adapted for various roles throughout the war.

The Hurricane Mk I was armed with 8 x 7.7mm machine guns. The Hurricane Mk IIB was armed with 12 x 7.7mm machine guns.

The Mark IIC was armed with 4 x 20mm cannon. The Mark IID was armed with 2 x 40mm cannon in underwing pods.

This example is a Hurricane Mk I of 1 Escadrille, Belgian Air Force 1940.

The Hurricane was pretty popular, and was one of the best fighters around before the next generation arrived (Spitfire, Mustang etc.) so Belgium, Holland, Egypt, France, Canada, Iran, Ireland, Portugal, USSR, South Africa, Romania, Turkey, and Yugoslavia all had Hurricanes at various times...
