Description
The Beechcraft Model 17 Staggerwing was introduced in 1933 as a 3-seat executive aircraft in the USA, and although sales were initially slow, the quality and performance were highly impressive.
The Staggerwing was very popular on the air racing circuit, and also in 1935, British diplomat Capt. Farquhar flew one round the world covering 21,332 miles.
As World War II was approaching many countries began asking for Staggerwings for use as liaison aircraft, light transport and ambulances.
This example is a Staggerwing of the Royal Navy 1944.
