Description Some people follow the winds; they float by on the breeze, with little thought to where it will lead them. But they still follow it, even the harsh storm wind, rushing them along to unknown consequences. Other people refuse to follow a path others have made, they refuse to be lead along. They create their own wind, and go where they want. In the centre of the storm they decide the speed, the direction, the way. In the centre of their own storm, no matter how fierce, they can stand their ground with pride.

This one looked FAR better before I sized it down - I love to use Painter's oils, but they do look a bit pasty and plastic-like when the image is sized down... Anyway. I started this sketch when I tried out the trial version of Painter X, and finished it today (in IX).

The main character of my novel, Shanouna, who has always created her own winds.

this reminds me of one of those creatures from Chutulu, probably because the hair looks like tentacles

I like the dark colours and the atmosphere in this picture

I've heard so much about Chutulu now that I simply have to check it out soon... I've seen pictures though, and you do have a point

Thanks a lot I had a lot of fun doing it. Of course, now that I've looked at it for a while, there's a thousand things I'd like to do differently...

Thanks for the fav too!

Thank you I tried to think a bit more about the whole picture in this one, not just one part of it as I usually do...

This looks really nice...I never understood how anyone can make anything good in Painter... But that's just coz I don't know how to use it right

But anyway, very nice piece...I shall go look at the rest of your gallery now :3

Thank you!

I guess so I used to be that way about Photoshop, until I forced myself to use only Photoshop until I could do something decent with it. But I guess it depends a lot on what version you use as well, earlier I used Painter Classic, and I could never make anything good with it.
