This is really nice. I like the same reddy colour is used in the shirt, it makes it look complete, if that makes sense.
Getting out of the sketch book is useful. I would definitely recommend just getting some single sheets and trying working on them.

I've been planning to use separate and larger sheets of paper, but the sketchbook is always so tempting xD

You might find it's quite liberating to use a single separate sheet of paper, not to sound too much like 'an arty type' But with a sketchbook comes the kind of hemmed in feeling. I love sketchbooks, they are great for carrying around and doing prep work in and experimenting.
But I think work looks different if it's something that stands alone

I've seen several portraits of House here, but this is the first one of Dr. Foreman. I can never decide if I really hate or love that character... anyhow I think you've captured all the interesting pieces in the character and It's great. I like the choice of colours in the BG to.

I like the complexity of the character a lot and it's true that sometimes you can't decide whether to like him or not. He's pretty selfish sometimes.

This is a GREAT portrait. The profile is really nice. Your hatching is also very clean and precise, something that's nice to see. I often see artists with a messier hand attempt it, and it usually does not bode well for the piece...
