Twilight was never that kind of filly to go out of her way to talk to other ponies her age or make lots of friends. She did have some friends when she was younger but they weren’t that close. However the idea of friendship was never unappealing to her. After all, she did have her absolut best big brother best friend and he was the bestest friend she ever could’ve asked for!
That’s how it was for a few years after all.

Twilight didn’t know a lot about what was going on in Shinings love life when she was little, she did although now that he had been meeting someone in secret and while Cadence was foal sitting her, they sometimes talked about stuff like that. Just some casual chatting, nothing too serious.

One night when Twilight was just about to go to bed, she heard loud voices coming from her brothers room next to her. As she went to go and look what was happening, she found Shining and her mother in an argument and it was not hard to tell, her mother was furious.
What she didn't like at all was when her mother noticed her standing in the doorstep and quickly involved her in the argument.

She has always been that kind of the golden child in the family. Especially when she got accepted at the school of magic, Studiengang under the one and only princess Celestia. But she had never felt like she was somehow more talented or skilled than her brother. More or less the opposite. She had looked up to him all her life, he had taught her so much. After all, he was her big brother best friend.

But the look he gave her when his mother had left the room was like nothing she'd ever seen.
"Get out."
And she did. As fast as possible. She new she'd upset him. Was it her fault? The argument? Her mother being angry? What did she do? She just always wanted to try her best so very hard... she didn't wanna get Shining in trouble. She didn't want to make him mad. She just wanted all this pain and aching go away...

He avoided talking to her after that. Actually, he avoided anyone in the family. He did not talk to anyone, he barely came out of his room.
When Twilight met Cadence in the castle halls, at first she didn't wanna talk about the incident but then couldn't help but break the silence. She told Cadence all about what had happened and how scared she was that she had upset her brother and that he didn't wanna talk to her. Most words although were buried under tears and sobs.

He left it.
The stuffed pony he had gifted her for his 10th birthday. His favorite plushy. He left it behind. He left her behind. In only a few days his stuff was packed and he had moved for the royal academy. And in that moment, something broke in her. And she new... her bbbff, her best friend, was gone. And she feared that it would never be the same between them.

When she had moved to Ponyville to learn about friendship, she wasn't at all thrilled about it. How could she know that she wouldn't loose all of the friends she'd make against because of a mistake? It hadn't worked out before. She wasn't seeing her old friends from school anymore since she concentrated on studies. She didn't need new ones. There was no point. She was stringer alone. After all, no one would be around to break her heart.

The invitation to the royal wedding in canterlot. That was the first time she brought up her brother to her friends. She didn't like talking about him. She didn't like thinking about how they broke apart. She missed him and the time that they had spent as kids together. But she new these times wouldn't come back. And after all this distance, how could there be a way back?

And here's a bit of Twilights pov :3 I mostly just wanted to refer to the bbbff song because I think it says a lot about their relationship! And when she sings which part-
At first I hadn't planned on affecting her at all in this story but it just kinda flowed all together and I think it kind fits so here u go xd
And theres gonna some interaction between Shining and Twilight in the future! After all, she has a royal wedding to attend!

I am currently planning the next parts which will probably be a lot bc there's gonna be a lot of character interaction! And Springwater dis gonna make an appearance again! I might redesign him a bit tho.

It's kinda crazy thinking about the fact that at the beginning all I changed was Cadence and Shining not being in love to ship em with others and now I'm making all these stories and drawings about them, this got much bigger than actually intended xD
