Description
This is Donovan, he is a African Lion cub from the Utica, NY zoo and is about 8 months old. I just love this little guy, as I have been taking picture of him since like July. You can see some more of his picture below.More shots of Donovan and his family:

Yes, I guess it is. I was talking to the zoo keeper and he said that they got winter coats and there was no reason to keep them locked up all winter. He said it cost more but that they kept the building open for them and kept two big heat lamps on for them, that way if they got cold they could go warm up.

I guess he does look displaced, but I think he likes the snow and he was born in this area so I guess he has to get use to it.

Exactly. It's just very unusual to see a lion in a snowy environment (as opposed to tigers or snow leopards, haha)

Their not out in it a lot, they can go in the building anytime they what and there are heat lamps in the building for them. So when your there your luck if you get a chance to see them outside in the snow.
