There's actually a whole bunch of stuff that I do, but I always use the Layer > New Fill Layer > Solid Color for all my coloring (base, shading, lighting, etc). I'm always changing my brushes (size, flow, and hardness) to get different effects too.
The games are really fun and they make you smart too!
The puzzles, characters, story, and animation are really awesome ^^
I highly recomment playing them, it's not like any ordinary puzzle game
