Description A very slightly anthropomorphic Andean Tinamou icon.  She's got her binos and book ready for some beachy bird watching.

I am a big fan of shorebirds & peeps, hence the guide my little tinamou avatar holds.  If you're looking at North American peeps, the standard North American Sibley is your best guide.  Dennis Paulson's Shorebirds of North America is also an excellent (photographic) guide.

Some free online Peep & Shorebird resources:
sora.unm.edu/sites/default/fil…
www.migratoryshorebirdproject.…
www.audubon.org/sites/default/…
www.surfbirds.com/Features/cox…

And of course, the Cornell Lab of Ornithology website is always invaluable as a quick reference, especially their Keys to ID and species comparison features.
