It seems natural, since much of the Chipmunks' material during the 1980s are covers of Top 40 songs and Footloose was a really huge movie during the 1980s, add to that Alvin and Kevin Bacon's character from that film seem to share similar personalities (at least from my point of view, though others would argue otherwise).

Yeah... I still remember some of the episodes for example when the Chipmunks first meet the Chipettes at the hotel room.

And the one episode were the Chipmunks/Chipettes join the circus for a bit and just loved the Chipettes outfits. The episode was called 'Greatest Showoff on Earth'.
