Nice image. I only have two points I'd watch out for on this.
The first is the background. I know, I know, I'm as guilty as can be for the same crime of a blank background and when you want the focus on the character you want a blank background. The only thing I can see is he has quite a bit of grey and white to him and while the white outline helps he still seem a bit... well, the background looks like it bled a little into him. It's only minor so I wouldn't worry too much and as you said this was an experiment so no matter.
The second point is his left leg. The way its joined to him at the pelvis and the way it bends just seem a little bit off. If you you move it a bit closer to his right and maybe bring the foot round to face the viewer a little more it might look a little better.
But it could just be part of the style you went for with this so feel free to ignore this if that's the case.
Overal, its a nice picture with pleanty of moviement and his propotions are spot on.

I seriously love the design of this character! You did such an awesome job on the lineart! I know it looks pretty rough, but I just like this style pretty much :3
Also you gave him a really fantastic pose!
The position of the hands are very well thought out and... positioned xD
The all around look of your character is unique, too! I like the way you drew his eyes and the shape of his mouth! The shoes got me as well, I like their design and colour combination!
Moreover I love the way you shaded the character! ItΒ΄s a common method to shade a rough art but I always love to see this style
Also I just canΒ΄t take off my eyes from his hairstyle and the white fur on his knees. Seriously lovely work, hope to see more
