Description
Whew, and this took a bit of doing: an in-depth deck-plan and design for a star wars universe ship for Lig28.
May still need some tweaks... not totally happy with the 3-quarter view: also there are some inconsistencies... due in large part to consolidating images of at least 3 different 3D models of this one ship which don't entirely agree.
At any rate: some details:
Name: The Lucky Kybuck
Model: Modified Corellian Engineering Corporation YT-2000 light freighter
Hull registry: YT-043617LIG
Owner: Kyeson Evvedrr
Hyperdrive: Class 1.0, military grade, after-market
Armaments:
- 2x twin laser-cannon turrets
- 1x fixed forward ion cannon
- 1x forward proton torpedo launcher
- 1x retractable ventral light defense laser cannon
Defenses
- Re-enforced Durasteel hull armor
- Re-enforced hull geometry
- Aftermarket military-grade shield generator
The Lucky Kybuck:
The Lucky Kybuck is a heavily modified Corellian YT-2000 freighter; like virtually every YT-series freighter operated by a private owner, the ship has been extensively modified from its stock hardware. In this case: the most immediately evident addition is the expansion of the ships habitation saucer module, and filling in of the open gaps in its forward hull, this not only expands the available space for its crew substantially, but also plays into the vessel’s re-enforced hull and armor plating. Despite her bulky appearance: the Lucky Kybuck lives up to her name; with exceptional maneuverability and acceleration for a freighter, more in-line with that of a military gunboat.
The ships primary offensive weaponry, like most YT-series craft is its dorsal and ventral turret guns; each of which mounts twin medium laser-cannons, and boasts a virtually 360 degree firing arc thanks to the ships narrow profile. The ships maneuverability means that it can easily engage in dog-fights; with a skilled pilot able to keep a target in the so-called “money lane”; the narrow band of space where both dorsal and ventral turret guns can fire on a single target. The Lucky Kybuck’s modified forward hull also allows for the addition of heavier after-market firepower: including a fixed ion cannon suitable for crippling rather than destroying a target, and a forward proton torpedo launcher and extensive magazine of warheads. The ships ventral hull also includes a retractable light laser cannon for repelling attempted boarding action.
Another, less outwardly apparent modification is the inclusion of an on-board medical bay, as well as the conversion of some of the vessel’s cargo bay into holding cells. This serves the Kybuck well in its primary role; as the base of operations of the bounty hunter Kyeson Evvedrr and his crew. Operating throughout the mid and outer rim; the Lucky Kybuck’s military grade hyperdrive, extensive suite of sensors and sensor jamming equipment, and her maneuverability in the hands of a skilled pilot mean that she is an exceptionally difficult ship to evade once she has her target.
