Description Artist's note: I AM *NOT* BY ANY MEANS AN ARTEMIS x HOLLY FAN!

I finally decided just to submit this stupid thing.... Its for the summer contest in the club. I've been working on it since May I think, ' perfecting' everything. I can still name about a million things wrong with it, but that's just my obsessive muse speaking...

Anyway, digression aside, this picture is based off the characters from the book series 'Artemis Fowl'. Thats Holly and Artemis clearly erm... *enjoying* some of Bog's Famous pizza at Stonehenge. I see Artemis finally got that time machine he promised Dr. Po working... Don't worry, Butler is around there somewhere, maybe he took the picture. If you look really close behind Holly's head you can see Bog himself slaving away in front of his oven, and for those of you who don't read Gnommish the banner says "Bog's Pizza" and the pizza box likewise says "Bog's Pizzeria" the sign says "menu"

For those of you who don't know what the books are about you should go check them out, they are rather small (that is compared to books like Eragon and Inkheart) and written for middle school students, but the puns are endless and Eoin Colfer's writing style is hilarious -well if you have a large enough vocabulary to understand it that is...

So... Artemis, Holly, Bog and the Gnommish font are copyrighted to Eoin Colfer. Everything else was my Artistic interpretation of things.

Done entirely with the GIMP, and a mouse....

I drew it out on paper, then scanned it in and used different layers for everything.
For the lines if you use the ctrl button with the paintbrush tool you can get straight lines.
For everything else I just used the brush tools to color at different opacity's and the smudge tool to blend.
I hope this helps, It took me awhile to get a handle on it as well.

ahh, yes. I tend to use undo a lot too.
I also like to undo everything when I'm done and then redo and watch it being edited! xD

It's great!! When I saw it I have laughed so hard that my stomach started aching...the idea is wonderful!! And Artemis face...it's just priceless!!!! I looooove it!!!

You know...I'm ArtyxHolly fan (please, don't hurt me!!!)..and I know it's weird, because they're so different...but I'm a weird person and I love strange couples XD
Ohhh...and I hate Minerva!! I can take HollsxTrouble (they're might be a nice couple too) but Minerva and Arty??? Neveeeeer!!!!!!!!!!!! She's terrific!! Kill her and I will be happy!!

Oh thank you! I'm so glad you liked it and it made you laugh! As I was drawing it I had to laugh myself... sometimes the way you draw things come out unexpectedly perfect for the occasion.. oh and don't worry I think all AF fans can live in peace regardless of their "English" and/or pairing preference .. (I didn't see what was wrong with your post, but as long as it's legible and not AOL speak I am completely fine with it)

Erm... Opal's a little stir crazy at the moment.... and Foaly still can't bear to hear her name... but that *does* have an interesting train of thought to it....
oh and by the way Holly+Chix is the more likely pair up than any of the other ones although I've always thought she'd go for Trouble... there isn't enough of him in the books I don't think.

Colfer was once my favorite author and then he did that whole 'Minerva' thing (although the entire book wasn't very good anyway, compared to his others) and I've been rather jaded ever since.

I still don't understand. I've read all his books and he never disappointed me before that one. I was all excited, I even went to the book store the day the book hit stores in the U.S., but I got there kind of late and managed getting the very last copy. I started reading immediately and then... Almost instant disappointment. T_T

Hopefully the next one is better... I think the problem is that he doesn't really have a complete story in mind for AF... meaning that he will continue writing the books with no end really in mind. which I hope isn't the case.. I actually think he could expand on the supernaturalist, sci-fi seems to be his best genre, and hopefully the next book "airman" will be good too.. we'll see.
