yeaaahhh, I really haven't been doing much on dA (as shown by how long it's taken me to go through messages ). I'm much more active on tumblr, but the sort of things I upload aren't really things I can be bothered putting on dA, they're mainly rough character designs, short comics and class work with the designs I might make a dump, but with the class work I'll probabaly upload them when the assignment is actualy finished so I can make a dump with everythinggg.

Yeah...I understand that feeling.  I would venture over to that space....even if only for you and ...but I know myself and once I start getting involved, I really just get involved in it.  I'm already stretched enough that I can't take the plunge into something as big as tumblr.  There is just wayyyy too much to do and way too much to keep up with.  Even my Twitter followers wonder how I can keep on going and I'm like  At least you've got this raccoon cheering you on in this corner and always eager to see more of your masterpieces  As for waiting until after the assignment is finished, I can understand that.  Some teachers are really weird about that and I don't know why but after it is graded and what-not it's already done and then it's a great feeling to show off

Yeah that makes sense, I think that's why I never really got into twitter or anything like that even now I'm finding myself not really using my facebook for anything, I just can't be bothered keeping up with all my accounts I think for me I've found myself more active on tumblr because I find it more casual I guess, I don't feel the need to reply to comments as much and I can upload images in bulk without hassle. But yes, I'd imagine it would be a lot if you have other accounts to take care of and if you're highly active on all of them (actually now that I think of it, a fair few of the people I follow on tumblr have almost completely stopped or left dA )

Hmmm, I don't really worry about that. Our lecturers don't seem to mind what we post online, though one of mine had a concern regarding copyright since some people put their work on facebook and apparently facebook owns it then something along those lines. With my work this semester it's more suited to be uploaded as one big thing, two assignments are animated shorts so I can't really upload those at all until they're done but I was going to upload all the designs and stuff in bulk (so background/character design and stuff). My other main assignment is a 3D character which I was planning on uploading as a progress chart sort of thing showing from design to finished character I've been doing life drawing as well but that has a folio not a project...I guess  could upload some of my life drawing studies if people want to see drawings of my dogs, my left hand and naked people.

Yeah....although Twitter is one I wouldn't mind if you returned to since I'm really active there.  Finally more in community where I need to be.  Lots of indie devs that I can share and communicate with and we do a lot for promoting eachother.  You just better at least use it to announce your LSs so I can bug other people to checking out your amazing art as it happens (your LS is the most fun afterall...they must share in the fun ).  I don't use FB anymore either but that one is more of it frequently leaves me depressed because it forces the things I don't want to be reminded of that my life is missing out on far more than it should (especially about not having a g/f issue...it REALLY shoves that down my throat so much and ALL of the ads are dating site ads ).  Yeah, that is part of my personality is that if I make an account, I commit and stay active (and frequently go down with the ship to the bitter end ).  That is very true....as people started going onto tumblr, DA got more abandoned  and took a maturity hit (all of the more mature ones moved to tumblr while 13 year olds continue to march in Even the overall art quality has started to show a bit from that result too )

Ah...that is more of a good point to teach the students is to be aware of who owns what when uploading to places.  Better to learn now while in school before it is a commission or bigger and then possibly get into a messy legal matter  That would be interesting to see.  Possibly do it in a storyboard outline would be a great way to upload it in bulk (and good professional practice...something I need to get back to doing more often ).  3D chars are a whole bunch of fun until it gets frustrating like no tomorrow  And at least it is a single character and not a scene (hello render farms).  LOL  I'm always happy to check them out.  I have noticed I am still applying the practice and lessons learned from life drawing even though I'm doing pixel art (angle/depth of shadow for example and have just learned more from studying an artist's life drawings than even examining on my own IRL).  Naked could be fun but DA gets annoying and unfair on that....they are strict on it being drawn and not marked as mature but photography is all over (it should be the other way around IMO)...if you dare, you can do a search on it and you can see the difference...well...sorta since the ones taken down are kinda taken down

Oh yes, I'll still be using it to announce livestreams! that reminds me, I'll have to check how my computer runs with procaster now, my computer isn't all that fond of the Cintiq I might have to invest in a desk fan to stop both of them from overheating.

Yeah, well I used to use mine for uploading doodles I did with friends in class and I'd always be taking photos when I did stuff with friends so I'd upload those too. But I haven't really gone out and done stuff the last couple of years, so it isn't all that relevant to me now unless I want to see photos of other people going to bars, or the groups I liked years ago that are now posting memes and junk all the time >_> I never get ads like that, I get Universities, clothes/make-up, and games with cute animals. Tumblr has the same problems as dA only that things spread a hell of a lot quicker...and with more gifs.

It is good that they're making sure to teach us those things they've also gone through the process of submitting to festivals and we've had guest lecturers bring up business practice and pay yeaaaaah I'm sort of mixed with my 3D character. I am enjoying 3D more and most of my model looks fine...but I made the head too low poly...we weren't told how dense our mesh should be at least I'm not having as much of an issue with rigging it as I thought I would. Heh, as it gets to the end of semester sometimes you'll walk into a computer lab and every computer will have been snatched for rendering. Hopefully my model and animation will be simple enough that I won't need that, though I do feel bad for my computer and the horrid rendering process I put it through with my last assignment

I don't think I'm good enough at life drawing yet to apply it to anything for me it's more about posing and movement, so there's a lot of difference between looking at a physical person and trying to make it up (especially with how I work). It's a shame dA is so finicky about nudity, there's a huge difference between a naked body and something that is sexualised, also something that is drawn and a real person. The only bit of indicated nudity in my drawings is that they have nipples yet that qualifies as mature...I'll probably upload my final folio as a dump and just mark it as mature...I put up a couple of my life drawing stuff on tumblr today, at least I can put it there without worrying about flagging my work

Nah, from what I've seen, the only way you can bother people is if you're being intentionally offensive (which is something that you don't do anyways ).  Yeah, I usually don't say much but do a lot of replies.  Don't really have much to say since I work too much and don't think anything I'm doing is too interesting or exciting to tweet about (and when I am, I'm too busy to tweet about it as well ).  I hope it works.  I would LS myself but my computer just can't handle LS.

Awwwww...same here.  I don't have time to go out and my contacts aren't doing much either.  Bars are more for those who need to fill a void in life (and I can't even go to a bar here because they close so early ).  I don't even see memes on FB but memes on FB isn't something I'm interested in seeing  I'll take the games with cute animals over dating ads...especially dating ads for religious groups I'm not even a part of  Yeah, I do know how things explode so quickly on Tumblr.  I don't mind being behind the pace because I'm way too busy as it is anyways

Yeah...makes me wish they did that more for me as well but I was having hands on development done on my own.  We only have so much time so you can't quite get everything  For gaming, low poly is very important and something like Pixar, for example, is the opposite extreme where high poly isn't enough  Not having too much of an issue with rigging is a great thing because I have heard constant ranting and complaining about that when I was in college.  We can hope it won't be too bad.  I remember from college where I would come in on the weekend and see someone take over half of the computers for their render farms.  Maybe that can be a possible option if it starts looking necessary.

I think maybe nothing directly but possible subtle practices and ways of looking at things you might have learned  I have learned so much about how important posing can be and movement certainly is difficult to master through art.  Yeah, I do agree and having done some searches when would bring it up, I realized most of the photos uploaded onto DA aren't art or artistic.  Although when I think about it, it makes perfect sense, since professional photographers probably wouldn't come to DA to share their best works    Not the nipple that serves other purposes than sex!  O:  Yeah, they are a little over-obsessed with it because parents don't raise their children properly to distinguish the nipples serving more than just sex symbolish :I  Although I do remember a certain Areina who doesn't wear clothes  Although she doesn't count  Your drawings do look very nice and I noticed the breast are properly shaped instead of how they are usually drawn.  I also appreciate how you are drawing a variety of bodies.  You're certainly going to be a fantastic artist and I know it.  I need to collect 'em all now before you become more famous than Picasso

Well yes, I just get all anxious when I post stuff and always worry that I'm a bother I know when I post stuff I'm not actually bothering anyone.
I have a feeling that my computer reaaaallly won't be happy with me livestreaming, I might have to look into a new graphics card or something...cause I also found out just before that I can't get Sculptris to fully work on my computer cause it can't handle it

The memes aren't usually interesting, they're not even really memes, I can't describe what they are they're those articles that have headers like "20 Insert thing here that you won't believe". Hehe, a couple of my friends go to the same church, so Facebook keeps suggesting that I join their FB group. Yup, if you start crap on Tumblr it'll spread pretty damn quick.

My character is around 7000 tris, apparently that's appropriate for video games I could probably cut it down even more, since her eyes have more tris than her boots (the eyes have way more divisions than they need). We were warned before we started rigging that the class before us hated it Yup, I've seen that a few times...we also start having more random people sitting in our classes, today their were more people sitting in my class that were just working than people from the actual class.

Yeah, a lot of the nude photography I've seen on dA doesn't seem to have been done for any artistic reason. I just looked at the front page with mature visible...I remember why I have it turned off >_> We're raised in a culture that mainly shows breasts as things related to sex, I've watched a medical show where a woman was having an operation to fix a problem with her breasts and they blurred her whole chest you couldn't see what the problem was...also a show where a man was wearing fake ones which they blurred, but as soon as they fell off they stopped blurring them. It hurts my head ; _____ ; especially when the program is rated M. Areina is allowed to not wear clothes~ she is made of goo Yush! we get a good variety of life models ranging in size and age though we've mainly had younger, average sized to thin women. Now I just need to transfer that to my work and stop drawing uuguu male characters~

Not at all...especially on DA.  More like "early Christmas"  Your art is far too wonderful to be a bother.  Even the silly doodles and sketches are funny and have a lot of character in the images I have all seen

Yeah, I'm having that same problem....can't even run at 10 frames per second with everything closed so trying to make an LS that is interesting (or even music playing) drops down to below 5 frames per second and not even exciting at all anymore.

Ewwwww...I haven't dealt with those much but still can't stand them.  Seen them a bit on DA a couple years ago but at least those have stopped.  I think it keeps forcing dating ads down my throat because my account isn't too active and it has no clue what I want but my status is single so it assumes that  I'd at least have a chance of considering it if they didn't ALWAYS turn out so horrible (and yet to even reach a status of even starting to date over the years ).  

Yeah, for a main character, that sounds about right.  For minor characters and "wildlife" it starts to plummet a lot.  2,000 gets to be a lot for a background character and I remember hearing about a guy having to trim down a bee down to 19 tris.  They all start to add up after awhile but depending on your range and focus, it gets to be a big difference.  Yeah...I think almost every modeler will always hate it...except for the select few that have a turn-on to abusive torture  LOL  And it only gets worse as you get closer to the end of the semester.  I have also seen as the technology gets better, the need for the scenes, the polycount requirements, etc. go up faster than technology can keep up with so it continues to build more and more

Yeah...to me seems more like "I'm a lonely guy that wanted an excuse to take a nude pic of this hot chick" scenarios.  I do have mature off usually and don't see it that much.....until I look at photography category and then it is more of a search to find something that isn't nude  Really?  That kinda defeats the purpose of it being a medical show and doing a breast operation.  I'll admit as a guy they can be nice to look at for sexual suggestion when that is the purpose but when it is for non-sexual purpose it really gets annoying (and I have a feeling some women get insulted by it as well since it only treats them as a body pat and not even it's primary function of feeding the young =c ).  Even when M-rated?  I can understand that in America where they are more prudist about nudity than the rest of the world (which would prefer nudity over human-on-human violence)...but even down in your area?  At least M-Rated they let it slide...even a few teen rated (such as the Titantic movie, which claims artistic moment but I still disagree with that scene being artistic ).  The variety is good because there are certain things you can only see on the abnormal bodies that normal really don't show well.  Yeah...we'll just send some pretty males for you to draw

Yeah I can but what kind of backgrounds? most of mine are just varying combinations of patterns, textures, overlays and gradients...and even that sounds more complex than what it actually is but yeah, I don't really know how I'd do one cause even though it's generally the same I do approach them differently I guess I could figure out how to do one hehe

Well I figured you could try make 2-3 different ones, just to give an idea on how to do it, in different ways, how you use texture and so on Cause I don't think I am doing it right

Yeah that's what I was thinking I can make like 4 mini tutorials on all the different bits.
You can't do it wrong there is no wrong in art! ...only things that look weird, but that's subjective
I'd like to try I do like making tutorials~ I'll have to have a go when I get stuck with work again

I guess I usually do rush it I think I let myself take my time with the lines here and slowed down with the shading to try getting in some certain shapes (as a rough guide, that new picture of Pipin took under an hour to do everything, while I spend over an hour doing just the lines and flats on this one). Thank you again ;w; I hope I can find some time to do a bigger picture of her, I want to draw her shiny eyes and pendant again~
