Lu Xun the house sparrow.

This one was a bit tricky. Not because I didn't think it'd fit, but I never thought how the birds in the Redwall series could wear clothing outside of hats (or a snake as a circlet, in one case.) I was originally going to make Lu Xun a mouse, but my boyfriend kind of inspired me to give the bird part a go. And I'm glad with out it came out. Except a few more birds in the upcoming arts.

As for why I chose a house sparrow for Lu Xun, here's why. Sparrows in the Redwall verse were pretty big in the earlier books, and they were mistaken for foebeasts at first. They were small, easy to underestimate, but they were intelligent and capable fighters, and in the end were valuable allies to the Abbey. Lu Xun was greatly underestimated by both Guan Yu and later Liu Bei, so I felt it fit. Also, Lu Xun has always had birds as part of the names for his weapons, as well as his nickname in the games, "Sonic Swallow". I wasn't sure if Swallows ever made an appearance in Redwall, but I knew sparrows did.
