Description
so because of a rather boring astronomy class, i have begun to create a story based on the solar system using personified planets. (if you follow my tumblr i have posted up some character descriptions for this already)here is my first upload for this, depicting our beautiful dying earth. when he was younger, he was the prodigy, the wonderfully intelligent one, the one who was constantly talked about as the best candidate for the next ruler of the milky way galaxy (after the current sun). he is sweet and pure, the most compassionate and loving and kind.
but then he started to become very sick and lost all of his strength and is currently growing weaker and slipping away. his fever is so high and is increasing, his skin is sallow and wasted, his lungs are failing him, he cannot breathe, his blood is being poisoned and he is rapidly losing blood and nutrients....
his doctors are perplexed as it seems that his natural bacteria who live in his body have turned on each other and are killing one another, creating the imbalance. they are also attacking his body and stealing away the nutrients he needs to survive and depositing back waste and poison in its place. however, he needs these bacteria to function and survive so he is starting to seem like a lost cause...
his loyal retainer moon is constantly worried about him and tries to care for him best he can, even as he is forced to suffer the pain of watching his beloved friend, master, and lover die before his eyes. moon has also been infected by this strange illness but has yet to show symptoms. nonetheless, he is determined to stay by his master's side and is willing to die of the same sickness if fate decrees it for him.
i really want to write this tragic story of earth and moon if i can..QAQ

yaaaaay ;3; <333 i really love tragic things XD;;; and exploring emotion. and characters. X3 i think the love story between earth and moon is tragic and sweet. and rather a popular trope XD the love between an ill dying master and loyal retainer....

It seems like an interesting idea and who knows, may have sort of impact if you do it right
More so if you leave it ambiguous of how it'd play out in the end, meaning our actions will determine the ending in a sense, maybe not this generation or the next, but hopefully soon

that is kind of what i'm hoping for ;3;
also i think for the main story (earth and moon), moon shall narrate. and i do plan to leave it rather unsure. moon writes at the end that earth says he's feeling a bit better (the result of the eco movement), but moon is worried they do not have much time left (seeing as earth is almost depleted of oil and how in the long run, we are still doing much more harm than good). he also states that, although the universe is vast, he thinks that there will never be another exactly like earth.
so i want to leave it sort of open at the current state. and sort of imply that earth should be treasured and show he is currently quite obviously dying in agony :\
......right now i'm just worried about the possible rating since earth's illness might get...really graphic. but i do want to show just how badly we're wrecking earth and if shown on a personfied version i think might have more impact. X_X;;; but damn he's gonna get /wrecked/.....

I only thought to leave it unsure to make people really think on their decision, but it's your story regardless
Sometimes reality needs to be known, not all will like it I'm sure, but if one wishes to try and make some sort of statement, gotta take a risk

yup. i think i am gonna leave it unsure a tad. i mean the other option is to kill earth and have moon commit suicide but meh i rather like the unsure version better XD;;
yeah. i'll probably just put like a gore/unsettling images warning on it or some shit. >3> i mean, oil = his blood. his breath is like natural gas, fever = global warming, scrapes = bombing, bruises = decimated land, hair = ocean, vomiting = volcano eruption, etc. XD;;; i mean by the end of it he's gonna be all fucked up and horrid looking really XD;;;

At least with the unsure part, it leaves it open to how people would interpret it, more so if it gets popular and people are moved enough that fiction or not, they want the earth to heal
That's why we have mature tags here 
Oh boy, I can pretty much visualize it already, and sadly it is how our planet is becoming if nothing is done fast enough. Sure we can't restore what we take, at least not easily, but if we find alternate means to avoid using more natural gasses permanently and everyone is using, it's a start
I mean, we have solar energy and if done right, can make use of thermal and compost. Plus I think there's already methods done to turn certain gasses emitted that are harmful into fuel.

true. i wasn't really planning on posting it here though. OTL the format on this site makes it a bit hard to post something like a webcomic...i was mainly just gonna upload like cover art/drawings of the characters and such here. perhaps if i really take off i'll upload the actual thing to like smackjeeves or inkblazers or something. >3>
yeah. //OTL i'm kinda scared of having to draw some of it honestly...like during one of the major wars holy shit he's gonna be like....raw mutilated meat.....D8
and yup. i'm going to subtly mention that probably. with 'he's feeling a bit better nowadays' but still in the long run he's still dying much faster than recovering/stablizing. OTL
only other problem is for the story, he doesn't know humans exist. he knows there are 'bacteria' in/on him messing him up, but doesn't know about them on a personal level any more than we know bacteria and virus in our own bodies. >3>

Yeah, I probably would have trouble drawing something like that too, and not just from inexperience
The bacteria idea does make sense, though not sure how exactly the moon would be affected since humans made little contact with it. Though not only the moon getting symptoms, I can see Mars too if you think about it
