What an amazing painting! The subtle use of brushwork and midtones gently coaxes my brain to complete a very disturbing image. I guess you don't need to use a hammer to make a strong impression.

My dad shot an opossum a while back and the bb struck it's eye. It continuously came back to haunt our old house... it would just chill on our porch, staring with his leftover eye. We actually called him one eyed jack. That opossum looked remarkably like your creature, too, what with the white exterior and all... though I think your jack might be a bit creepier...

I once saw a piece of graveyard plume agate which looked just like this... amazing how forms in nature can sometimes create images from their formation, this image is fantastic the skin texture once again is outstanding as in all your pieces it has such a cold lifelessness to it and yet also a very alien quality in its depth and surrealistic portrayal

Those luminous bluegreens in the skin vaugly remind me of some surreal paintings in Omni. But I cant recal the artist. Do I see the reflection of a flower in the garnet eye?

thank you. i am surpised this one didn't sell at the show. i think it's one of my favorites of the group. and these are all just digital snapshots. i will get proper transparencies next week and hopefully they will do the pieces more justice. much of the detail just doesn't read with my digital camera.
