So I decided to browse you gallery, and voila! A gorgeous shot of a heron 
Clear, sharp lines in the foreground and the heron's feathers seem to retain all the color and detail.
I am in envy of your picture-taking skills, since the art of taking pictures is out of my reach. Really, when I submit a large drawing to DA that my scanner can't handle, I have to take pictures of it.
At least 30 to get a single decent one D:

Haha, and to be perfectly fair: there's a massive difference between taking pictures of animals and taking pictures of drawings. Drawings are by far, a million times harder. They reflect light in such strange ways depending on the medium. Graphite tends to shine oddly, colored pencils can look washed out, sketches fade into nothingness...It's way harder.

O-O You seem to know all the problems I have when taking pictures of various drawings XD
There's so much work I can't post here because graphite is my favorite medium and I draw much large drawings.
Well, now I can use that excuse for bad pictures!

Hahah. Taking pictures of drawings is an art form in and of itself. I sympathize so much with the graphite issues. Have you tried scanning them in chunks and then photoshopping the scans together?

Haaa... That'd be a lot of work just scanning, seeing as how some are (approx.) 28x19 or even bigger, and my scanner accepts little other than A4 size. <_<;;
I should try sometime, though.

I have that same problem sometimes. There is a Tiger Heron. I saw a picture of them and they are beautiful like the rest of the herons.
